Lovingly restored Vermont historic home. Surrounded by 140 acres of private, wooded trails, natural stone fire pit, streams, apple orchard, gardens and vistas for you to enjoy. Very bright home inside, with lovely views, fully furnished. Location is convenient to ski mountains, hiking, the famous Battenkill River for fishing, restaurants, Manchester, VT premium outlet shopping, museums, etc. The space We love this special little place and we hope you will too. It is comfortably furnished, with beautiful views. You will find plush towels, plenty of pillows, down comforters, books, staples, washer/dryer, laundry products and many other touches to help make your stay comfortable. When snow is not on the ground, you can enjoy sitting on the Adirondack chairs on the back deck or enjoying a grilled dinner on the picnic table under the apple trees. The house has 140 acres of property, 30 of it on one side of the road with the house and barn. The other 110 across the road (accessed through a locked gate) will be yours to roam through the trails, cross streams and climb up ridges for beautiful vistas. It is perfectly suited for long country walks, and bike rides. Many ski mountains are within a 30-40 minute drive. The dining room off the kitchen has a table with extension that seats 6 comfortably. There is a bar counter looking into the kitchen with three high top chairs. The kitchen is stocked with staple items, toaster, microwave, full refrigerator, stove/oven, Cuisinart coffee maker, French press coffee maker/coffee grinder, bakeware, pots, pans, etc. For outdoor cooking, there is a Weber gas grill with barbeque utensils. The front parlor room is a lovely space for reading or working at the desk. We encourage guests to enjoy the books on the shelves. For those working remotely, there is a strong wireless signal and a landline phone. Cell service is spotty, but voice over wireless is great. The two bedrooms are upstairs. All beds have high quality memory foam mattress toppers on top of quality mattresses to help insure a restful sleep.The master bedroom is huge with a queen bed and a newly renovated ensuite bath (tub/shower). There is a Blue Tooth system to play your own music or CDs (we do have a library of music CDs and DVDs in the house). For young families, there is also a youth bed mattress, in addition to a Joovy2 Porta Crib (50% larger than a standard porta crib), which could be set up in the master bedroom. There is an additional guest bedroom set up with twin beds, which are very comfortably converted to a king bed if requested. This bedroom also has a new ensuite bath (tub/shower). There is a Cambridge Soundworks CD/radio player in this room. The very large, lovely living room downstairs has a futon twin size daybed, which could accommodate another person. There is a full bath with shower in a separate alcove off of the living room. The living room also has a sofa, comfortable chairs, lighting, large fireplace and a 42" flat screen TV with DVD Player. Although there is no cable, this TV is set up with a ROKU system; there are many channels set up already and you can enter your passwords to access channels through Netflix or Hulu, etc. In addition, there is a game table and chairs with playing cards, betting chips and puzzles for your enjoyment. The basement has a full washer/dryer for your convenience, with all necessary laundry supplies. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire property, except for the interior of the barn. We live 1/4 mile up the road, and are happy to meet you when you arrive, or arrange for a self check-in if you prefer. Other things to note Flat-screen TV with Roku in living room (guests will need to use own Netflix/Hulu/Amazon accounts). There is a landline phone in addition to wireless internet. Cell service is spotty in the area, but WiFi-enabled calling allows for perfect service in the house! New Weber gas grill has been added for outside cooking. The fireplace in the kitchen is not to be used by guests. Livingroom fireplace is absolutely available! ADDITIONAL FEES: NOT COLLECTED THROUGH AIR BNB. Guests can remit upon arrival. Cleaning Fee: There is a $50 cleaning fee, which is NOT collected through Air BNB. Guests can remit fees upon arrival. Pet Fee: Please contact prior to booking if you hope to bring your dog. There is a $50 pet fee for one dog and $75 fee for two. Apologies to cat lovers, but we do not allow cats. We love them too, but the potential for allergy reactions for future guests are much greater than with dogs.
