West Kill is located on the back of Hunter Mountain. It is a beautiful historic community with deep roots in once-prominent tannery businesses and now a hiking mecca complete with an amazing craft brewery (West Kill Brewing.) The West Kill creek, across the street from the house, is a pure mountain brook about 100 ft wide that is wading depth in most spots (1-2 ft deep), and is perfect for the little ones to cool off, explore wildlife like tadpoles and fish. The grown ups also enjoy fly-fishing in the creek. A farm store with hen-fresh eggs and delicious condiments is a 5 minute walk away. A super-cool upscale store/bar run by a former manager at Tavern on the Green is a 2 minute drive or a short bike ride away as well.
