Spacious and quirky cobb Cottage, Braunton

Trafalgar Cottage is a 200 year old traditional Devon Cobb cottage situated in the heart of Braunton, close to the fantastic beaches of Saunton (4 minutes), Croyde (10 minutes) and Woolacombe (20 minutes). Braunton offers its own bars and restaurants and is a perfect base to explore North Devon. Our house is cosy and comfortable, sleeping 6 people. Pets are welcome, and although outside space is limited there are plenty of nearby walking opportunities! The space The lounge/diner is a cosy, comfortable space with a large inglenook fireplace and wood burning stove. A ships mast supports the floor above. Please be aware that due to the age and nature of the cottage there are some low beams and uneven steps and floors. This is part of the character of the cottage and what makes it so special, however we understand that this won’t suit everybody and care should be taken. From the lower landing, there is a reading room/games room with a sofa bed and access to a family bathroom with roll top bath. There are a further 3 large bedrooms upstairs. At the other end of the landing is another bathroom with a walk in shower. There is a cloakroom with WC on the ground floor. The quirky kitchen is well equipped and has a dishwasher, range cooker and plenty of storage. There is a utility room to the rear with a washing machine and tumble dryer, as well as a hanging/drying space. Bed linen and towels are provided at no extra cost. Wi-fi is provided, but please be aware that it ‘runs on Devon time’ and is not suitable for large downloads and online gaming. You may also find that mobile phone signal is not great in the house. You can usually pick up a signal outside from the terrace/street or from the upper rooms near a window. Logs, tea, coffee and sugar will be available so you can have a cuppa and warm up when you arrive. Outside, there is a small courtyard with seating to the front of the property. There is also a storage unit with cushions, sun loungers, body board, buckets and spade etc. There is a store room to the rear of the kitchen, which is locked and is only used by the owners and housekeeper. Guest access The store room at the rear of the property is locked and can only be accessed by the owners and housekeeper.
