Airy, with wood beam ceilings, skylight, loft, kitchen and fabulous porches north and south facing. Wood stove, perfect for retreat or honeymoon. Dakpa and Diki Dolma can cook for you. Enjoy the fresh air, mountain breezes, and quiet. Safe, clean, simple. Cottage is located directly north of Nagarkot Farm House park at NFH & walk down through NFH to reach our cottage, approx 10 minute walk. This is a perfect space for a weekend getaway or a serious retreat. This two story fully furnished retreat cottage with loft and views of the entire Himalayan range comes with staff to cook for you. Sleeps 2-6. The cottage is powered by both solar and electric lighting, there’s a wood stove and an energy back up system. The Cottage is situated on a 10 ropani peach orchard, motorable road touches the property edge. From there, walking access to cottage, 10 minutes, only- but it is on a mountainside--access challenging for physically disabled, lofts challenging for toddlers. Kelly by Suresh Shrestha and his crew of craftsmen, the same crew that restored the Patan Museum and Garden of Dreams in Kathmandu. The full retreat cottage is yours to enjoy. Dhakpa and Diki Dolma live below and can come up and cook for you as you like. FEW THINGS TO CONSIDER: Before visiting, consider bringing food supplies from Kathmandu or, buy locally in Nagarkot. Its a kind of semi-rural Tamang village. 4) Walk to Sakhu, the old trading town between Nepal and Tibet, we suggest you do this on your departure day. There are public buses and tourist buses that all go to the top of Nagarkot leaving from Kathmandu. One can walk down or take a taxi. Please note as of January 2018 the road to Nagarkot has roadwork construction as well as the road to Sankhu. Alternatives 1) Take bus from Boudha to Sankhu, the old trading town between Tibet and Nepal, and again bus from Sakhu to Jashinging Pauwa or 3-4 hours walk to reach the cottage. 2) Take bus from Kathmandu to Nagarkot main square via Bhaktapur. Then 20-30 minutes walk from there to the cottage. Roads are good up to Bhaktapur but beware of the bumpy road after that since earthquake and just through natural development process. You may face challenges. 3) Take Taxi to the farm house or rent jeep all the way to cottage. Could take either route of Sankhu or Bhaktapur. OTHER THINGS TO NOTE: · Simple and rustic. Bring your cell phone for communication. · The house lights are run by solar and electricity. Cell phones and computer can be charged using your adapter to house plug or, by using our solar suitcase. Dhakpa can set it up for you. However, we suggest you bring power pack as a back up for charging. Alternatively, you can charge at Dhakpa's house which is located 5 mins walk downhill from our house. Or, you can walk to Nagarkot Farm House,10 minutes walk up the hill, and charge your phones or computer.
