Gopher Wood Getaway Cabin-NEAR Ark Encounter

Located about 20 minutes from the Ark Encounter, our Gopher Wood Getaway cabin offers a rustic and picturesque place for families to stay near the Ark. Enjoy 500 sq ft of living space inside the cabin that includes a fully equipped kitchen, a bunk room and full bathroom. Our cabin has heating, AC and electric over looking 84 acres of Kentucky Bluegrass. NOTE: Our cabins are truly a GETAWAY as we do NOT have any wi-fi or TV in them. Enjoy an unplugged getaway NEAR the Ark Encounter. The space Truly a UNIQUE STAY as you visit the Ark Encounter. Guests love the splendid sunrises over 84 acres of Kentucky Bluegrass. Our hiking trails. Our fully stocked fishing lake. Our outdoor space with fire pit and charcoal park style grill. No Wi-Fi or TV available but with so much to do outside, you won't miss it. Take a hike and explore. Watch for the 1860's grave site where the Wright family settled the area over 150 years ago. Find the stocked lake and get a line wet with the kids. Hunt for fossils. Enjoy a fire in the firepit. Bring some charcoal for the grill outside. Stomp around and enjoy! Many families regret not adding an extra night just to spend it exploring the farm! (NO swimming or boating allowed, but catch and release fishing is fine. We are not responsible for the chiggers or poison ivy. Please come prepared). The cabin sleeps up to 6. BUT PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION BELOW for sleeping arrangements: In the bunk room there are 3 twin beds. They are designed for kids and have the standard 6" bunk bed mattresses on them. There is also a full size bed with a 12" memory foam mattress on it. There is a Euro Sleeper sofa in the main cabin that can sleep 1-2 more. We provide bedding for the above mentioned beds. We also keep a folding cot in the closet. You will need to bring your own bedding for the lucky duck who gets the cot. The bathroom features a toilet, sink and standing shower with hot water and plenty of towels. Our kitchen should have everything you need for family meals. Full size refrigerator, range, microwave, sink and lots of cooking tools. We also keep a crock pot in the cabin so families can have dinner waiting for them when they return from their day. We have a fire pit and park style grill in our outdoor patio area. We will provide a small bundle of firewood with your stay. Extra firewood is available for a fee. A park style charcoal grill is also part of the outdoor space. Please pack the charcoal and everything you'll need to light the flame. Grill tools are kept inside the cabin. Unfortunately our Gopher Wood Getaway is not handicap accessible at this time. We do offer EXTRAS for a FEE. Ask about these when you request your booking. Fishing poles with tackle, strollers, highchairs, telescopes, family game night bin and a 20' inflatable screen with projector for family movie night. PLEASE read through our house rules before requesting to book!! By requisition to book you agree to abide by our boring rules. HOUSE RULES: There is no wi-fi or TV provided in the cabin. We do have some games, art supplies and toys for our families to use during their stay. No tobacco products or alcohol allowed on the Siloam Valley Campus. This includes vaping. Guests are subject to an extra $150 cleaning fee if tobacco or other smoking products are discovered during your stay. No excessive alcohol on the Siloam Valley campus. Guests will be subject to a $100 extra cleaning fee of abusive alcohol is discovered. No parties or events allowed. Registered guests only allowed on the property. You must follow all check-out rules before you leave. A detailed listing of how to remove bedding and towels will be provided as well as the expected state in which to leave the cabin and the yard before you leave. We are truly a rural get away designed to be a spiritual retreat for couples and families. If you encounter a problem during your stay, please make the property manager aware within 1-2 hours of your problem so we can take action immediately. Refunds for events happening out of our control that we are not made aware of in a timely manner will not be issued. In the rare event that there is a problem during your stay, our team will do everything we can to make it better for you. - We encourage you to hike and explore the property. Siloam Valley has 84 acres of rolling Bluegrass. It's a beautiful place to explore and hike. Please respect the wildlife. Leave things as you found them. Carry out trash while hiking and exploring. If you find any bodies of water, absolutely NO swimming or boating. We also ask that no one under the age of 18 explores without a parent, guardian or trusted adult. - Siloam Valley has quiet hours from 10pm to 7 am. - The farm owners live in the house adjacent to the cabin. If you need anything during your stay, please ask. - Fire Pit Rules - Please be sure to extinguish all fires safely. - Help yourself to anything around the cabin. Chairs, tables, etc... Do not use the folding chairs outside. They are for inside the cabin. There are plenty of camping chairs in the deck box on the porch. Feel free to make yourself at home. We simply ask that you leave things as you found them when you are finished. - Please place all trash in the provided receptacles. We do not have trash pick up on this rural road. If you should need trash removed from the cabin during your stay, please let the property manager know. - Follow these check out procedures before your 10:00 am check out on the last day of your departure. - Our Gopher Wood getaway is close to the road on which it sits and 4 wheel drive is not needed to access the cabin but is remote and very quiet. There are neighbors behind the cabin. - Pet Rules: We do allow pets for an extra cleaning fee. This is limited to healthy and fully vaccinated dogs under 45 lbs. Pets must be kenneled when guests are not with them. For pet safety we do not provide the kennel. We do expect all potty breaks to be cleaned up quickly and appropriately. We suggest dogs be leashed when outside if they are not obedient to voice commands. We are not responsible for lost pets who get a taste of farm freedom during a stay. Guests assumes all responsibility for items damaged by the pet during their stay. Overall, we trust pet owners to be responsible with their beloved family members and welcome them to be part of the family memories made at our place. Guest access Guests may freely use the cabin, yard, outdoor space and any area within view of the cabin for hiking or exploring. Please stay on our side of the road as the property owners own the 84 acres adjacent to the cabin side of the road. A farm map is provided in the cabin binder upon arrival. Other things to note The Gopher Wood Getaway is a part of Siloam Valley Retreat Center which is faith based farm offering a place where Believers can enjoy a spiritual retreat. Most of our guests stay with us to visit the Ark Encounter. Some come just to getaway and spend time in self-guided sozo healing. About a half a mile down the road there is another cabin and some tent camping. The Gopher Wood space is its own and you'll enjoy the seclusion and serenity of that space. The hiking trails and fishing pond are shared space with other Siloam Valley guests. On the rare chance you encounter another guest, please respect the serenity of your surroundings. NOTE: The Gopher Wood Getaway does have neighbors.
