THE REST is a spacious, 2 double-bedroom, 2-bathroom holiday home, perfect for a romantic getaway for two or a holiday for a family. Just a 200m grassy stroll to our beautiful beach with its magic vista of island outcrops, 100m to the shop, café, bar and restaurant and on the doorstep of Cathedral Cove, Te Whanganui-A-Hei and Hot Water Beach! NOTE: The walking trail to Cathedral Cove is closed due to cyclone damage. You can however, still visit the Cove with a Boat or Kayak Tour. The space This is a holiday house with a difference. Furnished with an eye for design, the house is both comfortable and stylish, featuring polished concrete floors, walls brimming with contemporary New Zealand art and photography, and modernist-influenced furnishings mixed with classic retro and Kiwiana pieces. There are 2 bathrooms (one, an upstairs ensuite), and 2 bedrooms. Downstairs, bedroom one features a super king. Upstairs, bedroom 2 opens onto a deck, includes an ensuite, and is fitted with a queen bed. The kitchen is well-equipped and setup with crockery, cutlery and glassware to serve at least 4 guests, along with a dishwasher, food processor, microwave, picnic ware, an excellent range of pots, fry pans, and baking, cooking and serving dishes. There are multiple entertaining spaces both inside and out so the group can have their own areas to enjoy the house, as well as there being enough room for the family to get together. This two-storey Hahei accommodation features bright and spacious open-plan living with multiple chill-out areas inside and out, three eating areas (dining, kitchen and outdoors) and excellent indoor-outdoor flow. Unwind in the large leafy garden under the avocado and persimmon trees or the old-school grapevine, nap away an afternoon or chill out on the balcony with peeps of the sea, on those colder evenings, warm yourself with the fitted wood-burner, fire wood included! Special Conditions *Please help yourself to herbs located near the kitchen, but please leave other herbs and our vegetables and fruit. *Mind your head on low beams and under stairs/please take care on the spiral staircase. Fire Safety guard available and should be used with the log burner. If wet, please be careful on the wooden sleepers near entrance. *We have installed a new shower in bathroom one downstairs (over the bath), please use the nonslip mat provided. *.There are fans throughout. Guest access Access to the house is via the lock box near the Kitchen sliding door. Guests do not have access to the garage end of the house, it is a seperate loft accomodation. Entrance to the house is via the kitchen sliding door. On occasion both units may be occupied. Because of the layout of the house, this would not affect guests privacy and enjoyment of the property. Each accomodation unit has its own seperate entrance. Other things to note: Despite being between two world-famous beaches Hahei is basically still a small rural village. The convenience store closes at 5pm in winter. The local bar/restaurant may shut their kitchen as early as 7pm. If you're arriving late please plan for this. This house is very easy to find. Other things to note Self checkin is with a lock box. Access to the house is via the Kitchen sliding door.
