Our easy going and comfortable house has a huge yard with lots of sunshine. Within biking access to beaches, farm stands and a nature preserve, enjoy the country and beach all in one vacation. This is not an anonymous rental its a real home so it's perfect for families with children, there are toys, games, books and art supplies available. There is no AC in the house, though this is usually not a problem on any but the absolute hottest days of summer. This house is comfortable and unpretentious, it's all about relaxing and spending time together and on the island. Equally wonderful during crisp fall months, the warm spring and in the full summer season. There are plenty of toys, board games, arts and crafts and books for indoor time. Frisbees, bocce, croquet, and beach toys for outdoor adventure. I may occasionally be at our relative's house next door, always feel free to call or email with questions! You can bike anywhere on the island. A few blocks away is mini golf and ice cream, turn the corner and you will find a fantastic farm stand that also has fine cheese and yummy pies. Just a bit further is Mashomack nature preserve with great hikes for all levels. Once you are on island biking is easy (you can rent at Picozzi's). Take the LIRR from New York City to Greenport or the Hampton Jitney and then take a shelter island taxi (Go'fors 631-749-4252) to the house.
