Chardonne is one of the villages in Lavaux, The vineyards were formed more than 15,000 years ago, Lavaux was shaped by man in the 12th century. These thousands of years of history confer a unique character to this region, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Programme. Guest access By Rail: The funicular leaves Vevey and climbs up to Mont-Pèlerin. On the way, it runs through La Baume where you step out and walk 4 mins on the street to reach the entrance of the flat. The entrance is easily accessible. By Car: Please take the exits Chebrex ( arriving from Lausanne) or Vevey ( arriving from Bern or Montreux) and take the direction towards Chardonne. Once in Chardonne turn left to chemin de la Baume. Other things to note No doubt about it: hiking routes around Chardonne are fun. where there is plenty to discover. All together there are 26 hikes that you can choose from. E-Biking in Chardonne is easy, there are several electric bicycle stations in the village. The complex includes an indoor pool which is open all year and an Olympic-size outdoor pool which is open from mid-May to mid-September. In summer a non-swimmer pool and a splash pool are also open. You can reach the pool by simply taking the ‘funi’ down to Vevey. Our station is la Baume which is 4 mins walk from our place. Although, this area has one of the highest numbers of sunny days in Switzerland. In a rainy day you can visit Castle of Chillon, one of the most beautiful medieval castles of Switzerland, in Veytaux near Montreux, on the Swiss Riviera and Chaplin´s World A museum dedicated to Charlie Chaplin, located in Corsier, the village above Vevey where the great actor retired and lived until his death in 1977. Other Museums are: Swiss Museum of Games, in the Castle of La Tour-de-Peilz, just between Vevey and Montreux. A fascinating trip for all ages.
