Description
Beautifully located on the edge of our coastal wild meadow farm in Dorset. Orchard View overlooks two Apple Orchards and is nestled at the end of a leafy lane with no through traffic. Larger groups can book both Orchard View and Hazel Copse Cottages. Min stay 5 nights + discounts applied on 7, 14, 21 night & 1 month bookings. The space Orchard View Cottage sits on the edge of our 70-acre wildflower meadow farm, which we began restoring around twenty years ago by reintroducing indigenous grasses and native flowers. The farm is shaped by small fields, wide hedgerows, dry stone walls and orchards, creating a gently managed landscape that changes with the seasons. The cottage looks out across two apple orchards and open countryside, tucked away at the end of a quiet no-through lane at the entrance to Ivy Farm. There is plenty of space outside to enjoy the surroundings, with a private terrace for sitting out and a large grassy area beside the orchard where children can kick a football or families can play outdoor games. Wildflowers begin appearing from early spring, gradually filling the meadows as the weeks unfold. Apple blossom usually arrives from late April into early May, depending on the weather, and the fields remain rich with grasses and flowers until hay is cut in summer. The South West Coast Path runs just steps from the front door, and established footpaths cross the farm and lead through the fields towards The Fleet Lagoon, reached on a pleasant stroll. Beaches and coastal villages are easily reached by car, along with the wider Jurassic Coast. Inside, Orchard View offers a comfortable double bedroom and a bunk bedroom, a family bathroom, and a spacious open-plan living and dining area. It suits couples or families looking for fresh air, open space and an easy pace of life by the coast. Orchard View has a sister cottage, Hazel Copse, next door on the farm. The cottages are positioned for privacy and can be booked together for extended families or groups of friends wishing to stay close to one another. Guest access Guests have full access to Orchard View Cottage and its private terrace. The South West Coast Path runs just steps from the door, and established footpaths cross our 70-acre wildflower meadow farm, which guests are welcome to explore on foot. Beside the orchard there is a large grassy area where children can kick a football or families can play outdoor games such as badminton. This space is shared with guests staying at Hazel Copse Cottage. The farm is privately owned, and guests are welcome to use the marked footpaths during their stay. Other things to note Orchard View and Hazel Copse are open-beamed barn conversions in a genuinely rural setting on our wildflower meadow farm. As with any countryside property, occasional spiders or woodlice may find their way indoors from time to time. The cottage is thoroughly cleaned before each stay, and we avoid chemical sprays wherever possible. We are a small family-run business and do our very best to provide a comfortable and welcoming stay. If you enjoy being close to nature, we hope you’ll appreciate the character of this rural setting and review your stay with kindness and understanding. It’s a special place for us, and we hope it feels special to you too.
