The Belvédère des Cotilles

Châteauponsac, known as the Pearl of the Gartempe, is a fortified village, built on a rocky outcrop. The house is an old 2-story elevated sheepfold with exceptional views of the Gartempe Valley with its terraced gardens, the so-called "Roman" bridge, the historic district of Moustier and the Saint Thyrse Church. Artists, fishermen, hikers, lovers of history and old stones, we would love to welcome you to our beautiful region of Limousin. The space Le Belvédère des Cotilles is an 80 m² house on 3 levels in a walled garden with a terrace. The ground floor consists of a small entrance with a toilet area and a magnificent oak staircase that leads to the 1st floor. On this level there are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom with shower and toilet. The first 1900-style bedroom is equipped with a queen size bed and its old hat box The second industrial-style bedroom is equipped with a 140 double bed. Both are south facing over the valley. Our small beautiful period entrance on the ground floor leads to a living room of about 25 m² with a large fully equipped vintage kitchen, a dining area and a small living room. You can admire pretty beams, jointed stones, a period fireplace and antique furniture from the 30s-50s. This ground floor opens onto a small wrought iron balcony strewn with its awning where you can discover a first point of view. On this level, a spiral staircase will take you to level N-1 to access the large 20 m² living room. A leather sofa will welcome you for reading, playing games or watching TV. This space opens onto a new balcony terrace to access the garden or admire a new point of view. The terraced garden is enclosed, facing south over 250 m². It is planted and equipped with a terrace where you will discover the panorama. You can then relax or read to the sound of the river under a century-old olive tree. Or maybe grill a freshly caught trout or pike on the barbecue. Or put on your shoes, open the small carriage door to take the paved path of the Cotilles that borders the garden and go down to the bridge called "Roman", to the Gartempe and follow the Roman road.
