Fully furnished 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, and large open kitchen/dining/living area. Stunning mtn views, patio and fire pit, swimming hole on site. Owner resides on the property in a separate bldg. Kitchen has a stainless gas stove, plenty of cookware, all dishes, and appliances. There is no dishwasher, coffee maker, or microwave. This is a 'green' household. Squeaky clean and comfortable, but not overly fussy. We have 2 vegetable plots, herb & flower gardens, as well as fruit trees and berry bushes. Owner/farmer lives on the property w/1 dog. Gardening is ongoing, but quiet--we respect your privacy. A great place for families w/young children. We try to be conscious of water and energy use, and recycling. We do not use any toxic products. Water is from a deep well on the property, and is untreated. No cats--we love our birds. Dogs only upon prior approval. No smoking indoors. Guests have full access to the house and surrounding property, including swimming area on the Ausable River. Owner will greet all guests upon check in/check out, and is available to answer questions. Otherwise, I respect your privacy. Keene Valley is a summer resort town in the heart of the High Peaks hiking region. Small, but civilized--there are concerts, art shows, lectures, yoga/fitness classes, a library, bar, restaurants, coffee house & diner. Sunday farmers market, hiking trails, swimming, kayaking, bicycling, and rock climbing--all within walking or bicycling range of the house. Owner lives in Keene Valley year round, and is happy to offer tips on hiking and navigating the area. The primary hiker shuttle (to trailheads) and Sunday farmers market at Marcy Field are within easy walking distance of the house. Village shops and restaurants are 1.5 miles away. Children are welcome and love it here, but must be supervised. Riverfront is easily accessible, and unfenced.
