Yankalilla Farm Stay "Moana Views" Pet friendly

This private and comfortable studio space is perfectly set up for those who want to experience the country and seaside at the same time. Situated on 5 acres which is also set up for horses, Moana Views offers the chance for guests to stay whilst exploring the wonders this area has to offer. Also, there is a short drive of approximately 4 kms to Normanville and Carrickallinga Beach, or maybe you prefer to ride or float your own horse down to the beach instead, the choice is yours! The space Recently renovated and modern, the studio room is well appointed with all things needed to be self contained. It was originally my hay shed that wasn't being used, so its been transformed into an amazing space for all the share. The studio room has been designed with comfort and warmth in mind and contains a kitchen, microwave, gas stove top, over head exhaust, cutlery, pots and pans, crockery, tea and coffee provisions, electrical appliances (kettle, coffee and sandwich maker, blender, toaster), a dining area, and a lounge with a TV on the wall. There is also a separate bathroom with toilet and shower area, an outdoor sitting area with BBQ facilities and an ironing board, iron and cleaning products. All bedding and towels are also provided. Then there's a step up into a spacious bedroom and sitting area with a reading nook, along with a wardrobe, a queen size comfy bed and two bedside tables. Above the bed you will notice there are two skylights that give you the option to pull them shut for complete block out, or to leave them open for you to see the moon and stars at night so you get that full experience of feeling at one with mother nature!!. The rod that enables you to open or shut the shutters, is located in the corner near the bed. When you walk in, take a moment to look at the terrazzo flooring that's been hand laid using pieces of Tasmanian Cascade light beer bottles!! Its such an unusual feature that many guests are now inspired to do in their own homes. Moana Views is located close to our local attractions such as The Shrine of Our Lady of Yankalilla, The Historical Museum, Heysen Trails, Ingalla Waterfalls, many local wineries, Second Valley, Cape Jervois - where you can take the Sealink Ferry over to Kangaroo Island and Deep Creek Conservation Park to name a few attractions.; All of which are accessible within a 30 minute drive. And our local beach at Normanville is only approx a 3-4 km drive as well. You will find two very inquisitive horses on the property who loves a pat and a carrot, my best pal Mishka the German Shepard, my fat fluffy cat Rusty as well as the "girls" who lay the free range farm fresh eggs that are available for you to cook if you like fresh the eggs. I normally put them in fridge which is located in the studio room Should you wish to bring your own horses (up to 2) I am available to book for guided trail riding tours in the area at $40 an hour, including the beach if you’re game to ride through the township of Normanville or you can float your horse down (there is plenty of parking available in the car park down the beach) . Float parking is available next to the arena and your horses can be paddocked near you as well. Please note: All paddocks are electrified, so mind touching the fence lines and I accept no liability for the safety of your horses, should you decide to bring them with you. Also note that the property is located on a stretch of dirt road which can unfortunately result in dusty wheels on your car. At night time, it can also seem darker than normal when driving, as there are no street lights. But if you’re planning to arrive at night time, I always leave my horse arena lights on as well as my house lights to light up to show you where we are. Please note: NBN is not available ( hence there’s no access to the internet thanks to a weak signal in the rural area) We look forward to sharing our beautiful and peaceful space with you here at Moana Views. Guest access There are a few steps to navigate up to the room which is located behind a gate on the left of the main house next to the drive way, or guests may use the path that leads from the car parking area. The terrain is slightly undulating so please use caution when walking through the garden area. There is a small step leading up to the main bedroom which has been marked by hazard tape, so please take care. The bathroom and toilet is smallish but very usable and workable inside the cottage Horse paddocks and shelters are available for your horse to use, for up to two horses Horse float parking is available on the property A tack shed can be accessed to store your riding gear and horse feed or hay can be supplied for extra. Use of the 40 x 20 sand arena is available to use along with show jumps Tie up and wash down areas available near the arena There is a visitor parking space available for you to park your car safely. Other things to note An assortment of tea and coffee is available in the pantry along with fresh milk which is covered and located in the fridge, to get you started. There is no access to NBN/internet due to a weak signal in this rural area There are 4-5 steps leading up to the room as well as a pathway that winds through the garden, and as such, isn’t suited to people with ambulatory issues, so I do recommend people who need assistance in walking to find alternative accommodation that is on flatter ground. Exterior security cameras have recently been installed on the main house to provide extra security for guests and the host. The exterior cameras face the driveway and paddocks.
