Casa Relógio de Sol is magnificent, even though we are suspected in this review. The Pias is one of the most loving villages in this region and the Bestança River is really pleasant. The area has a rich and appetizing cultural and natural offer, but the village is quiet if you want to come and hear the silence. Can't make it in the summer? Try it in the winter. The fireplace cozy and the snow outside In this house, with large spaces, designed by history, you will find the ideal place to resume the natural pulse of time. The space Casa do Relógio de Sol is called that because we are not very original. There is a sundial on the facade and we have not been to think about it anymore. Anyway, it has the advantage of being easily recognized – the clock is above the line of sight, so it touches to lift the head off the phone and look up! The moth of the house is not, strictly speaking, typical of the region. It was built by ancestors who went to Africa and came back with cash. In the village there are other houses that are worth seeing, they are beautiful! The house is cute, comfortable and spacious. In fact, it's big, really big. They can come with their brothers-in-law and in-laws without needing to be with them at all times; or they can come to have the party with a group of friends, they all fit in any of the rooms. It has 5 bedrooms where 8 adults can sleep. In one of the double rooms there is a small bed, a space specially dedicated to the countryside of this world. There are two rooms, one living with a TV (guess where you'll meet the boys in the morning?) and one for dinner, both with a fireplace. Yes, yes! Because not only summer is it vacationed! If you wanted to come by the pool you can change your listing now, we don't have it! Go people, we are next to the natural pools of Bestança, the least polluted river in Europe and you want to ruin the bikini in a chlorine pool? The house has a kitchen of absurd dimensions… We can put Ramsay and Bourdain inside without them insulting themselves - ok, here we may be exaggerating! But you don't need to cook if you don't want to. We have two bathrooms, one the same as all the ones you've seen in life, the other a bit more labyrinthine – shower compartment, toilet compartment, sink compartment… it's always fun to see the staff in the daughter-in-law with the doors, for us at least. We have to tell you something else, there is no set of dishes coming from that Swedish store, there are several examples of different origins, which we like to show the various phases of our life. The same applies to sheets, towels, and blankets. There are in the house, in the rooms, books and games. There's also a piano, but it's out of tune, the muffler is broken, and worse than that, my daughter broke the only key that opened it. But it's always good to have a piano at the entrance. Have you seen the pics? That staircase that appears at the end of the hallway with an imposing air? It doesn't lead anywhere! It is the staircase to the attic where we have always kept the dust of the centuries. Guest access All of them! We don't recommend the attic, for the reasons already explained, but other than that, the house is yours! Other things to note The area has a rich and appetizing cultural and natural offer, but the village is quiet, if you want to come here to write a book, finish a thesis, do an artistic residence. No one bothers you, there are hardly any cars, because the path does not allow it (yes, the car should park 70m from the house). Beds are beautiful, old and between 1.80 m and 2m long. Can't make it this summer? Try it in winter. A fireplace to cozy (that the heat seriously comes from the central heating system) and the snow in Montemuro. We find it beautiful and comforting.
