In honor of our mother Margarethe, who has run and loved the guest house for many years with heart and dedication, the house reopened its doors in the summer of 2019. Our 5 double rooms have been redesigned into colorful themed rooms. Part of the furniture has been preserved and harmoniously adapted, complemented by carefully selected accessories. So every room combines coziness, style and personality – a place to relax and enjoy the special flair of Lake Wörthersee. The space Redesigned with a lot of love, we have preserved the existing and at the same time refreshed many details. Our guest rooms combine charming vintage flair with modern touches – or, as we call it: “A little shabby, a lot of chic.” Each of the 4 upstairs rooms has a balcony with a fantastic view of Lake Wörthersee, a private bathroom or shower with toilet and a decor that exudes coziness, style and personality. Here you can enjoy your first coffee in the morning with a lake view, end the day on the balcony or simply feel the peace and fresh air on the lake to the fullest. Loving details and little extras make your stay a feel-good experience – individual, charming and full of heart. The upper floor includes: "Sea" room: -16 m², located on the upper floor - Private bathroom with toilet directly in the room "Berg" room: -16 m², located on the upper floor - Private shower and sink right in the room - Separate toilet opposite in the hallway, exclusively for this room "Savannah" room: -25 m², located on the upper floor - Private bathroom with toilet directly in the room - Option of an extra bed "Orient" room: -16 m², located on the upper floor - Private bathroom with toilet directly in the room Furthermore, our small communal kitchen is at your disposal on the upper floor. It is equipped with two hobs, a mini oven, a dishwasher and two refrigerators. In addition, you will find a kettle, a filter coffee machine, a Nespresso machine, a toaster and dishes and cutlery. Guest access In addition to access to your booked rooms, our guests have a small, cozy shared kitchen with TV. Here you can prepare a small meal at any time, enjoy a coffee or simply spend relaxed moments together. Our terrace and the lovingly designed outdoor area also invite you to linger, sunbathe and enjoy the fresh air. Our private beach, only about 500 meters away, offers a beautiful opportunity to swim, relax and sunbathe on over 1,000 m². For your comfort, sun loungers, chairs, parasols, a changing room and a toilet are available. The beach area is exclusively reserved for our guests and invites you to enjoy the day on the water in peace and safety. Other things to note Guest house Margarethe – your stay at Lake Wörthersee Dear guests, To provide you with a relaxing and informed stay, here are some important tips and hints about your stay with us. 1️⃣ Local tax & Wörthersee Card The local tax is payable in cash on site (€2.70 per person/night). With the payment of the local tax you will receive the Wörthersee Card, which offers numerous discounts around the lake. For more information, visit Wörthersee Plus Card. 2️⃣ Location & noise For noise-sensitive guests, we would like to point out that the Südbahn railway line is a few hundred meters away. When the window is open, draft noises can occasionally be heard. 3️⃣ Rooms & Amenities Our rooms are equipped with double beds (180 × 190 cm) or single beds (90 × 190 cm). Housekeeping is done exclusively at check-out. If you would like fresh towels or a change of linen during your stay, please let us know. The bath towels from the rooms are not for the beach. We are happy to lend beach towels for a small fee. 4️⃣ Parking Free parking is available in front of the house as well as across the street at the farm building. We assume no liability for parked vehicles and their contents. 5️⃣ Internet access Wi-Fi routers are available in the house. The access data can be found in the information folder in the room. The use is your own responsibility. We assume no liability for failures or malfunctions. 6️⃣ Bicycles, SUPs & sports equipment The transport of SUPs, bicycles or similar sports equipment is possible, but must be agreed with us in advance and registered. Storage in the rooms or in the house is not permitted. Larger equipment and boats are not allowed in the entire area of the guest house. A charging facility is available for e-bikes. In addition, bicycles and e-bikes can be conveniently rented in Pörtschach. 7️⃣ Restaurants & tips In the high season, we recommend reserving tables in restaurants in advance. Many businesses also offer takeaway food that you can enjoy on the beach, balcony or terrace. 8️⃣ Character of the house Our guest house is a quiet recreational house and not a party house. 9️⃣ Dogs in the house In our house there are two friendly dogs that you can occasionally meet in the stairwell or outside. The dogs are not allowed in the guest rooms. We ask for your understanding that pets are not allowed with us. We attach great importance to mutual consideration and respectful cooperation so that all guests can enjoy a relaxing stay.
