The classification is mainly related to the many roses planted along these winding streets, the Rose is the subject of an annual festival welcoming many lovers of the flower and exhibitors (usually late May). The village of Chédigny is very peaceful and has a population of just over 550 inhabitants. It is located 10 kilometers from the A85 (exit n°11 Bléré-Loches), just follow the Departmental Road n°31, direction Loches, to find the signs "Chédigny". The "Le Lavoir aux Roses" cottage is located in the center of a multitude of activities, ranging from sports activities (Chemillé-sur-Indrois recreation area) to the largest castles in the Loire Valley (Chenonceau, Montrésor, Amboise, Loches, Chambord and many others), including the Beauval Zoo, the Futuroscope, the La Haute Touche Zoological Reserve and some of the most beautiful villages in France.
