The second bedroom has a double bed but, at a pinch, a single bed can be added to the room if necessary and if requested in advance. The space Middle Cottage is a stone built, sympathetically renovated house which has two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs and a large sitting room with kitchen downstairs. The cottage is well-equipped and comfortable. There is a television with both French TV and UK Sky basic channels and wireless internet is provided. The garden is south facing and you can eat your meals at the table and chairs immediately outside the cottage. There are many lovely rural walks from the cottage and we are only half an hour from an inland lake, Lac de Guerledan, where there are watersports, restaurants and bars. The beautiful north coast of Brittany is about three quarters of an hour from Middle Cottage, Rainbow Cottages in France. There is a swimming pool in St Nicolas du Pélem, just three miles away. The nearest village is Lanrivain which has a shop, two bars, post office and a church. St Nicolas du Pélem is three miles away and has a supermarket, garage, petrol station, banks, post office, bakers, library and information centre, medical practice etc. etc. St André is a peaceful hamlet and would suit people trying to get away from the rat race of life. There are no nightclubs or retail therapy outlets within striking distance. St Brieuc, is the nearest large city with shops and is forty minutes from Middle Cottage. Public transport is not available locally and a vehicle or bicycles would be necessary to enjoy the surrounding areas. Having said that, it is usually possible to arrange for transport from Guingamp station if this is required. I have hens, ducks, sheep, geese, beehives and a veggie growing area two hundred metres from the cottage, and a few hens in a fenced run in the garden. I also have two cats who roam about freely. All bedlinen and towels are included in the price, as are tea towels, dishwasher tablets, logs for the woodburner etc. If you are planning to arrive after the shops have closed, then I can arrange for essentials like milk to be bought and waiting for you in the cottage if you let me know what you require. Beach towels can be provided. No smoking permitted in any of the accommodation. You may smoke in the garden. July and August is the season when we have bats here in the garden which on occasion enter the house. I am happy to remove them if this happens. We also have another cottage which sleeps two, Small Cottage, 207914. Other things to note Check in is only between 1500-1900hrs as it is necessary for someone to be at the property to show you in. There is no lock box. In exceptional circumstances, later check in up to 2100hrs might be able to be arranged in advance for an additional €20 payable immediately upon arrival.
