Description
Smugglers’ Creek is a cosy traditional fisherman’s cottage on the riverside in the lovely village of Stoke Gabriel, South Hams. There is a slipway just outside the cottage where you can launch your dinghy or kayak, and you can also hire a kayak from the quay in summer. Directly opposite the cottage is the fab River Shack Cafe for delicious drinks and meals morning to night (Thurs to Sunday in winter)The village boasts 2 pubs and a restaurant, general store with P.O. and the Dart River Gallery. The space There is a wooden bench at the front of the cottage where you can sit and gaze at the beautiful view. A patio is available at the back, where you can sit more privately. There’s a cold water tap for washing muddy dogs, boots etc, and you can stow your kayaks or paddle boards safely there. Guest access Everywhere Other things to note The river Dart is tidal so there are times that you can’t walk along the foreshore or cross over the causeway to the other side. We keep a tide table in the drawer by the front door - it’s always wise to check (but the water never reaches the cottage). You and your children can enjoy Crabbing and Fishing from the Quay or the Mill Pool.
