In the heart of the small town of Ponte a Egola, a few kilometers from the beautiful medieval village of San Miniato, we rent a delightful apartment in an elegant residence surrounded by an exclusive garden with a unique view of the Tuscan hilly landscape. Double bedroom and 1 twin bedroom, large main bathroom, living room with dining table, living area, kitchen, TV, WIFI... and every comfort. It is located in the heart of Tuscany a few kilometers from all the main tourist cities. The space The location of the wonderful 19th century Villa is perfect for touring Tuscany: in 30 minutes you are in Pisa, Florence, Forte dei Marmi (Versilia), Lucca. The apartment - on the first floor of the Villa - has been finely renovated and with attention to the smallest details. It is equipped with all comforts: parking space, equipped outdoor space, 4000m century-old park and unlimited Wi-Fi. Guests can enjoy the excellent agreement with a Tirrenia bathroom! The magnificent 19th century Villa is located in S. Miniato; it is independent and surrounded by greenery: 4000 m2 of park with centuries-old trees and plants in which you can enjoy a walk in peace and greenery! The guests of the house can also enjoy an excellent agreement with a Tirrenia equipped bathroom! (30 minutes from home) The apartment is located on the first floor of the Villa which is accessed with just 13 steps of a large and comfortable staircase. The apartment consists of: - a large living room with LCD TV. - eat-in kitchen (equipped with all comforts) - double room - double room - bathroom (with shower and bathtub) The heating is autonomous. Wi-fi is unlimited. In summer the rooms are equipped with fans. S.Miniato is located just 7 km away, it is a medieval village and is famous for the truffle fair. Built in 1000 AD. by the Lombards and, in 1200 AD, it became the seat of the delegate of the empire. The village is famous for the Tower built by Frederick II of Swabia and for the Tower of Matilde of Canossa who stayed in S. Miniato for a certain period. The main event takes place in November: National Market Exhibition of the white truffle of the San Miniato Hills which takes place in the main streets and squares of the capital in the second, third and fourth weekend of November. Furthermore there is the Corazzano Truffle Festival which takes place in this town on the first Sunday of October, the Balconevisi Truffle and Mushroom Festival which is held in the hamlet of the same name on the third Sunday of October and in the month of March in Cigoli the Marzolo truffle festival. Furthermore, in July there is Luglio Pontaegolese: the setting for the festival will, as always, be the heart of the town, along the central Via Diaz and in the adjacent Spalletti and Garibaldi squares where there will be open shops, stalls, music and shows. From the house you can easily reach the town of S. Romano on foot in 15 minutes. Continuing along Via Costa you come across the grocery store which has all the basic necessities, a first pizzeria and a bar. Continuing on Via Diaz you will find the pharmacy, a bank, a church; instead at the traffic lights on Via Diaz turning right onto Via Curtatone Montanara there are bars, pastry shops, tobacconists, bakeries and Vivo Bio. The whole town is easily reachable on foot and every Saturday of the week there is a market in Piazza G. Rossa. Reaching the town by car takes just a few minutes and finding a place in the town is not a problem. From the house in 5 minutes by car you can reach the Florence-Pisa-Livorno (S. Croce Sull'Arno exit) which, as already mentioned, allows you to reach Florence in just 40 minutes or, if you want, Pisa in 30 minutes. Furthermore you can easily reach Montecatini Terme and Lucca, S. Giminiano and Volterra, Viareggio/Forte dei Marmi and Vinci. If you prefer, a 5-minute drive away is the San Romano-S. Croce station from which you can take the train that takes you to the center of Florence in 50 minutes, to Livorno in 45 minutes and to Pisa in about 30 minutes. If you want to practice sports nearby there are various possibilities: -a golf course (9 holes) - Fontevivo (4 km) - tennis and five-a-side football pitch - Fontevivo (4 km) - lake for sport fishing - Lake Regina (3 km) Curiosity: The young Napoleon visited San Miniato twice. The first was to have the certificate of nobility of one's family: the Bonapartes of Ajaccio had in fact distant origins from San Miniato; the certificate was necessary for Napoleon to be able to access the French military academy. Subsequently he returned there during the Italian Campaign, visiting the last survivor of the Tuscan branch of the family, Canon Filippo Buonaparte. A plaque affixed to Palazzo Buonaparte testifies to the meeting that took place there. Guest access They have access to the entire apartment and the garden.
