Description

Sweet small two bedroom period cottage, nestled in downland riverside village of Piddinghoe. Sitting room w/woodburner & open plan kitchen/diner. French doors onto small courtyard garden & studio. Loft space & desk. BEST SUITED TO SOLOS & COUPLES (perhaps not young kids, mobility restricted). No TV/microwave. Radio/Bluetooth/WiFi. Street parking. Lovely walks & cycle paths. Shops, beach & Dieppe ferry 1 mile. World famous cultural sites nearby. Direct trains to London (50mins) from Lewes. The space The space is cosy & welcoming, a home from home. It retains a charming 'cottagey' feel & is bright, light & airy. Decorated in calm, neutral tones throughout, the cottage is uncluttered, peaceful & perfect for enjoying the sounds & sights of nature all around. For the most part, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed hosting & look forward to welcoming you! PLEASE NOTE: 1) No TV or microwave in property. 2) A steep short staircase with no handrail (due to space) not suited to young children, elderly & those w/mobility issues. 3) The garden studio (w/separate side access) currently used part time by host on Mondays & Fridays - times tbc with guest in advance. 4) Please consider, this is a small cottage in a quiet country village, so BEST SUITED to solo guests, couples & nature lovers. Guest access Guests can access all areas of cottage (aside from studio when in use). Self check in using key storage safe box. Outside street parking for one vehicle and other parking in the village church car park. Other things to note Tide times are easily searchable online. Please note: the River Ouse is a major tributary and tidal river, its waters can contain strong currents at certain times and you are best advised to research high tide times and enter from the pontoon along with other villagers and visitors, many of whom are regulars. Recommended only for those with some experience of wild swimming. Wetsuits definitely required in winter.
