Description
Sink into the hot tub, and on clear nights, stargaze under West Wales' dark skies. By day, explore the Cambrian Mountains, the Cardigan Bay Coast Path, and nearby sandy beaches, or cwtch up (Welsh for cuddle) with a book. This cosy, peaceful cottage for two is your romantic hideaway - a place to breathe - with wildlife on the doorstep and great places to eat in nearby Aberaeron, New Quay, Tregaron, Lampeter and Aberystwyth. Come home relaxed and recharged. The perfect autumn break for two. The space Cwtch Cottage is an attached yet fully independent cottage with its own secure, private entrance. We’re next door if you need anything—otherwise you’ll have complete peace and privacy. Set within 7 acres of fields with a spring-fed one-acre lake and a wildlife pond, this is a nature lover’s spot. Depending on the season you may see red kites and buzzards overhead, ducks and geese on the water, regular visits from a heron—and, thanks to very low light pollution, breathtaking dark-sky nights with bright stars and the Milky Way. Your private, year-round spa hot tub is screened for privacy while still giving you views of the lake, hills and wide open countryside by day—and those incredible night skies after dark. There’s a picnic table at the front with lake views and a bench to the side for quiet morning coffees. You’re welcome to stroll the grounds, try a little fishing, or simply enjoy undisturbed peace and quiet to fully recharge. Indoors, the cottage is cosy and thoughtfully furnished, with Starlink high-speed Wi-Fi, a 42" TV with Freeview, a Blu-ray/DVD player, a small library of books and magazines, and a dartboard. The kitchen is well equipped for relaxed cooking: gas hob/oven/grill, microwave, dishwasher, a small fridge plus a large fridge-freezer, and plenty of crockery, glassware, cookware and utensils. A welcome tray (teas, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits) will be waiting for you on arrival. For extended breaks, there’s a washer-dryer, an ironing board and a good iron. The shower room (shower, WC and washbasin) is downstairs. Guest access Cwtch Cottage is easy to reach from the main road and has its own private entrance, garden area and off-road parking right beside the door. It overlooks the lake at the front, which you’re welcome to wander down and enjoy. At the front of Cwtch Cottage, you’ll find your own picnic table - perfect for watching the wildlife up close with morning coffee or an evening drink. To the side, a sunny bench (a real suntrap) offers countryside and mountain views. Practical extras: we can provide covered storage for bikes and space to dry wet fishing tackle or equestrian gear.
