Luxurious and spacious Drakein cottage is nestled in the foothills of the Klein Drakenstein mountain in Paarl, Western Cape, and enjoys exquisite views of those mountains, the valley and the surrounding vineyards and olive groves. The space Drakein is situated below the Limietberg Nature Reserve, a World heritage site, offering a number of beautiful hikes. The 180 square meter self-catering cottage is situated next to the main farmhouse, but private and self-contained. The cottage comprises of 2 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, a fully furbished kitchen with Nespresso machine and open plan dining- and living area, divided by a cozy double sided fireplace(wood provided) Solar panels and inverter provides electricity during any power outages. High vaulted ceilings create a lovely opulent and relaxing atmosphere. Guests enjoy the exclusive use of a private patio with outdoor barbecue facility and an enclosed garden with a small pool and sun loungers to soak up the sun. Guest access In a common area, more energetic guests can swim laps in a 22m lap pool. Herbs and some veggies for your supper can also be picked in this area for your supper. A washing machine and tumble drier are available for guest's use in the communal area and a cleaner can be arranged beforehand for cleaning, washing and ironing during their stay. Other things to note The farm of 27 ha ( 67 Acres) is enclosed with electric fencing and safe to walk around (+/- 2.3km walk with some gentle hills). The farmstead has a 24 hour state-of-the-art security system with off-site monitoring and guests can enjoy open door living. The farm is 10 minutes from a shopping mall and Paarl village, 30 minutes from Stellenbosch and 45-60 minutes from Cape Town. This makes for an excellent base to explore the Cape Winelands and coastal attractions. The farm is entirely self-sufficient with regards to electricity (solar) and water supply. The farm is accessible with even a small car. Free, safe parking is available.
