The space Peacock Cottage is a former fishing lodge on the banks of the East Lyn river, in the picturesque hamlet of Rockford, Brendon. Reached by crossing a footbridge, its location offers a peaceful and idyllic setting, and is the perfect starting point for exploring the wild beauty of Exmoor and of the North Devon heritage coast. The cottage is thoroughly modernised and slickly furnished. The accommodation includes a fully equipped kitchen-dining with Aga cooker, microwave and dishwasher, a comfortable sitting room with satellite TV and DVD player, a master bedroom with super king size bed, a second bedroom with a standard double bed as well as a full size single bed and a third bedroom with a single bed. On the ground floor there is a family bathroom with double shower cubicle. Outside there is a spacious and sunny patio garden with leisure furniture and barbecue. Additional facilities include: washing machine, iron, hair dryer, linen and towels, baby travel cot (please provide own bedding for the cot) and high chair, free WIFI, private car park located about 100 yards up the road. A maximum of two well behaved dogs are also welcomed at no extra charge. Please Note, the stairs are rather steep and narrow, bear this in mind for young and not so young alike! Guest access Guests will have sole use of the entire cottage and of its outside space. Other things to note We feel relevant to mention that the nearest shops are about 4 miles drive away. However, both Tesco and Sainsbury deliver your online shopping to the doorstep. Also, the Rockford Inn, just across the river, offers good food (check their board for opening hours). The Stag Hunters, a short walk away in Brendon is another popular choice. Be wary, we are on Exmoor, roads are narrow and often populated by wandering sheep! Also, at the cottage, as in most parts of the valley, there is no mobile signal. We supply free WiFi to overcome this shortfall.
