the House in the Castle

Our house is part of the 16th cent. Castle of Kimolos and was renewed with respect for tradition. It is a bioclimatic building, with 1m thick stone walls and 4m high ceilings, double roof insulation and small openings that let the air circulate. Fully equipped kitchen, fast internet and a work place (desk, office chair, 27" monitor) for those who cannot leave their work. The house is in the middle of the village, just 1 km away from the port and 3 km away from the clean sandy beaches. The space The House in the Castle has two bedrooms on the 1st floor, each with an individual entrance; they are connected to the main bathroom and kitchen through interior stairs. The west bedroom has 2 single beds and one sofa-bed, TV, air conditioning unit, ceiling fan and a balcony with stairs leading to Sotira Square, with its Cycladic style churches. The east bedroom has one double bed, work space (fast internet, desk, office chair, 27" monitor), air conditioning unit, ceiling fan, safe box, traditional fireplace, WC and a balcony with stairs to the impressive ruins of the interior of the castle. On the ground floor is the main bathroom, and the kitchen-dining room with a table for six, ceramic cooker, oven, large fridge, washing machine, espresso machine, a full set of cookware, crockery and cutlery, as well as a period marble sink and traditional fireplace. The house in the Castle is registered at the National Tourism Organization (E.O.T.) and follows all safety regulations. Guest access The area is very quiet. No cars are allowed, except late at night.
