Hybrid power (solar/ municipal), WATER TANK ensuring alternative supply Set in the garden of a family home, this newly renovated cottage offers double glazed windows and insulation (adhering to European standards of climate control) & is within a minute's walking distance of the quaint 7th street of Melville, and near to universities/hospitals. We welcome all guests, but the cottage is not suited to late night wanderers as we are a quiet property; suited to professionals. Parking is shared. The space We are a family living on the property, as well as staff, and a tenant. Parking is available, but limited due to the narrow driveway built for a horse and cart in the early 1900's! If you prefer, there is secure off premises parking 200m away. We are close to major universities, UJ and WITS, and to Hospitals (Milpark, Donald Gordon and Parklane). There are two dogs and 2 cats on the property. Guest access We share a driveway and entrance gate with the guest; as well as shared parking space. The pool is also shared. Other things to note Parking is available but requires reversing down an extremely narrow driveway originally built to accommodate a horse and cart, we are told! We can assist where needed. We encourage quiet time from 11pm - 6am, and discourage entering and exiting the property between these hours to ensure safety. Complimentary tea and coffee for short stays and for the first week if a long stay. Pls note that there are animals on the property. A large dog (Golden retriever mix) and a smaller Jack Russell. .reasons.
