ESCAPE TO EXMOOR - Charming spacious cottage

The Royal Farm is a detached, thatched spacious cottage in Winsford, one of Exmoor's prettiest villages. It boasts large living areas, a large enclosed walled garden & beautiful walks from the door. It has affinity WiFi, telephone, two sitting rooms, large dining room, 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. It is warm and has a log burner in the large sitting room. We would consider to rent it for a short term let ask well as a holiday let. The space The cottage is in the heart of Exmoor, with instant access to spectacular walks in the surrounding moorland, woods and twisting rivers. There is amazing abundance of wildlife in the form of birds, deer, fish and ponies. The bird life in the garden is incredible, which makes eating outside during the summer months extremely enjoyable. Dulverton is located 6 miles away and is renowned for its unique shops, homely restaurants and scrumptious tearooms. Highlights include a visit to Tarr Steps and Dunkery Beacon (the highest point on Exmoor). Wimball Lake is a short drive away where you can enjoy sailing, canoeing, angling or the beautiful wildlife. Other local highlights include Dunster Castle, the Holnicote Estate, Lee Bay, the Valley of the Rocks, the West Somerset Railway and superb coastal walks with stunning scenery. Safaris across Exmoor to see the red deer can be arranged through local companies. Fishing, hunting and shooting are also available. The villages of Porlock Weir, Exford, Lynton and Lynmouth are worth exploring. In the summer an evening swim at Porlock Weir, followed by a drink at Millers or the Ship Inn is hard to beat!! Guest access Royal Oak Farm is a well laid out, spacious cottage (we refer it to as a cottage, because of its homely appearance, not due to its size!) so even with 9 people there is plenty of space. The ground floor contains a large beamed living room, small sitting room (good for children or those who want a quiet moment), large dining room, kitchen with tiled floor, utility room, shower room with lavatory. The first floor has two double bedrooms, each with 5ft beds, two twin bedrooms and a single bedroom. Upstairs there are also two bathrooms, one bathroom with a shower and lavatory, and the other bathroom with a over bath shower and lavatory. During your stay you will have the use of: Wood burning stove - initial fuel included Full oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels Travel cot Highchair Two TVs Washing machine Tumble dryer Dishwasher Fridge/freezer Wi-fi Enclosed garden with patio and furniture Barbecue Parking (for 3 cars) We accept one dog with bookings Other things to note There is no mobile phone reception at the property (it is in a valley). In order to receive mobile phone reception, guests would need to make their way to the top of Winsford Hill (directions are given at the property). Texts, calls and emails can be received through the Wifi. If you need to contact one of the owners whilst you are at the property, you can email them and they will call back on the house number. Incoming calls can be received on the house phone, and the emergency services can be called on the house phone. We only accept one dog, all dog hairs need to be cleaned by the dog owners, garden needs to be cleaned of mess (we have a lot of children staying) and no dogs are allowed upstairs.
