Buzzard Yurt - A unique eco holiday in East Devon

The space Buzzard Yurt is carpeted with king size bed, bunk beds and clothes storage. Non smoking. It's off grid (except early and late in the year), heated by a wood burner and has a solar lighting system. Pillows, duvets, sheets and extra blankets provided. Please bring towels. It's rustic and homely, without pretentions to luxury glamping. You can make hot drinks in the yurt and there's a hammock with a great view just outside, in the shade of the walnut tree. Please let me know if you prefer the privacy of self check-in - all relevant info can be sent, so no need to be 'shown around'. The large wooden terrace is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the stunning countyside views. Great for watching the sunrise, moonrise and all the wild birds and animals that live here. Next to the yurt is a campfire circle, vintage wood-fired pizza oven (wood available @ £10 per barrow) and picnic table. 20m up the path is your own compost loo (with a view) and handwashing sink. 80m down the path is a toddlers' play area, trampoline, your own private kitchen, rustic flush loo, chill-out space (extra living space with WiFi, double futon, books, games and maps.) Behind this is your own shower, with reliable hot water from our biomass boiler and solar systems. Your private kitchen has a gas hob /electric oven and all the normal kitchen stuff, seats 4 comfortably, 5 at a push. Small enclosed porch useful to shut in a dog or two while you eat etc. Just ask for anything extra. If you have a large group, check out our Kingfisher yurt for a bigger kitchen. Large, wild swimming pond (fenced and gated) which you can use (at your own risk) for swimming, or paddling around in the Canadian canoe, kayaks and surfboards. Please supervise children and keep all gates shut /locked. Waiver to sign on arrival. 70m from your yurt is a wood-fired hot tub on a sun deck, bookable by either yurt, with a great view of the hills. £50 for one day, £25 for a heat-up on day 2. For safety you are advised always to have at least 2 people at the tub area. Message me to reserve a day/evening for your group, then pay on arrival to confirm your booking. Used at your own risk. The old cob pizza oven is next to Buzzard yurt. You can fire it up if you wish, which takes approx 3 hours. It still turns out delicious pizzas 😋Firewood available @ £10. A field away from us is Holyford Woods Nature Reserve, with lots of great footpaths linking in to the East Devon Way and South West Coast Path. Guests are also welcome to use a private 26 acre regenerating woodland, a beautiful 30 minute hike away - great for building dens and exploring nature. The Jurassic Coast is close by, with favourite beaches such as Lyme Regis, Beer, Branscombe, Sidmouth, Charmouth, Seaton and many more! Great for fossil hunting, wild swimming, surfing (Lyme and Sidmouth), SUP boarding and kayaking. Beach saunas at Branscombe, Lyme and Seatown.
