Solvangur is a private fishing lodge built right next to the river Langá (e. long river), which is one of Icelands best salmon fishing rivers. You wake up and fall asleep the sound of running freshwater and jumping salmon. You can actually see the salmon jumping from the living room window. During the winter it is the perfect place to see the spectacular northern lights. It is a perfect getaway or base for your vacation where you experience the peacefulness of the Icelandic country side. The space The lodge consists of four bedrooms, each with two single beds, two bathrooms with showers, a sauna that fits four people at a time and a washing room. A fully stocked kitchen, dining table that sits up to eight guests, a large living room with 6 comfy chairs, a sofa, a coffee table, a smart TV. Pictures and artifacts on the wall reflects the history of the lodge related to the salmon fishermen and women that have stayed here. Guest access Guests will have the whole lodge to themselves during their stay. Outside is a small children’s playhouse with toys for the kids, a sandbox, a swing set with a slide and a trampoline. There are also 3 golf holes in the field and you a free to use the pitching wedge and golf balls to practice. All we ask is that you collect the golf balls before you leave. We offer a fully stocked kitchen with a stove, oven, coffee maker, electric kettle, toaster, waffle maker and microwave to cook and heat meals. The is also a refrigerator w/ small freezer. If you need additional freezer space there is also a large freezer to store food. We also supply tableware for all guests. We offer two bathrooms, both with a shower, WC, toilet paper, a sink, a hair dryer, hand soap, shampoo and body wash. The sauna is ideal to warm up after a long day of exploring Iceland. The sauna fits four people at time and takes about 45 min. to reach the right temperature. The patio is equipped with a gas grill for outside cooking and we supply gas free of charge. There is also patio furniture with four chairs that guests can use to dine outside. In the living room area you have access to a smart TV with access to Netflix and local channels. Other things to note The lodge is conveniently located in the heart of the West Iceland and is only a 15 minute drive from the local town of Borgarnes where you find convenience stores, a swimming pool, petrol stations, a pharmacy, liqueur store, a bank and most other necessities. Guests are not allowed to fish in the river without a fishing licence. There are numerous lakes in the area and guests can used fishing rods and tackle free of charge during their stay.
