Description

Warm & friendly private home in the heart of vibrant Brunswick. This charming home is well looked after, clean and peaceful with high ceilings & large rooms. Ideal for people who appreciate a homey vibe - but still close enough to all this fabulous city has to offer! This large Federation home has been divided into two, offering an experience of the creative nature of fabulous inner Melbourne with 2 exceptionally comfy Queen beds, unlimited wifi and a 5 minute walk to a variety of transport. The space Welcome to a warm and friendly private home in the heart of Brunswick, Melbourne! Ideal for people who appreciate a lovely and homely place to live and/or a home away from home - and an iconic Federation house attached to an old Melbourne Milk Bar to boot! There is ample street parking out the front for those with a car. My name is Julia and I'm a musician/ singer. I am happy to let you know of my favourite/ hard to find haunts for that nice glass of red, or much needed Melbourne Latte! There are 5 cool cafes within easy walking distance of the home. I'm offering this home as a separate dwelling so you can have your own house in the heart of this city. The federation style house has been divided and I live in another part of the house. We are completely separate and private from each other - and cannot walk into each other's spaces. Your portion of the house has 2 large bedrooms with comfy queen beds. The kitchen also includes a sofa and is big enough to lounge about in. Guests can expect a creative vibe. My sister is an artist - and 3 of her artworks are in the house, and I'm a singer. I enjoy nice furniture and things and am gradually making this home even more comfortable for my guests. There are a mixture of antique pieces with retro and function! I like people to feel at home. I have lived in Brunswick for years before it was a "cool" place (!), and I feel the house really captures that brunswick vibe that people seek. I call the kitchen my "Oma" kitchen. It hasn't really changed in years and has a very good feeling to it ... If only the walls could talk! For Singles: I would recommend this home even just for one, as if you stay here by yourself, it will be a nice home to enjoy a very pleasant stay in the heart of this great suburb in Melbourne, (trust me, I love it here ;-)) Many people have stayed here alone and loved the tranquility and space - and for the price - it's affordable. It's thoroughly enjoyable solo. I'll be accessible if need be as I'll be living on the same property as your neighbour. You may be able to occasionally hear me play and write music/piano (although I'm not a loud person and I'm extremely respectful and never play too late). It's very common however that for weeks we never see each other. The house is bright and lovely with tall ceilings in the groovy inner Melbourne suburb of Brunswick, close to cafes, a 4 minute walk to trams, 7 min walk to Anstey Station (taking you to city centre) and close to great cafes, and bars between the famous Sydney Roads and Lygon St in Brunswick. Brunswick is 5-6km from the city centre. I also speak a bit of rusty German for those from that side of the earth ;-) Great Internet is also provided. There are plenty of DVDs/Netflix also for your enjoyment and a TV in the lounge. There is also hydronic heating in the house and in each room so the house is always super cosy in winter and on colder days. The heating turns on automatically. The house is fully furnished and equipped with all kitchen facilities, utensils, and mod cons. The power is solar, and the house is environmentally friendly. There are a couple of fruit trees in garden. I am no gardener - but there is a nice table for you to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. The garden is yours, though if it's really hot, you may see me watering plants, or putting out the bins which occurs once a week. Please be mindful when booking flights that check in is 2pm and checkout is 10am. I look forward to hearing from you! Guest access You will have a private dwelling to yourself as shown in the pictures. I have my own outdoor deck area which is separate from the main outdoor space. Other things to note The home is an old federation style type home that's been divided into 2 homes - and I live next door with my partner Scott. We are very quiet and respectful and give you your privacy. It's normal to not see each other for days. The table in the backyard is reserved for guests only. The only reason you will see us is if we need to water the plants in hot weather only. Please note, there is no air-conditioner. I do have good, quiet pedestal fans for sleeping and other fans also. The house can get good air - flow through the front and back doors, and the ceilings are very high. If you decide after booking you'd like to have an extra person stay, it's $30 per night per person after 2 guests. Maximum 3 guests, and adults only please. This price is also reflected upon booking initially, should you wish to book for more than 2 people from the start. It's very common on airbnb and other accomodation types.
