Camping among the rolling hills, gentle woodland and sparkling rivers of the Dordogne will give you much needed change of scenery, enjoying family & friends and taking time to explore new surroundings, breathe fresh air and relax in pure nature. At Camping Domaine des Mathevies we've been thinking outside - no box required - to help you make the most of your own special time. Just 7km from the medieval town of Sarlat and the river Dordogne. The space Included in the price: 1 grass camping pitch of 130sqm with 10AMP electricity hookup (you should bring your own cables). Two persons and one car. Sleeping accommodation is NOT provided. Supplements: Not included: Extra persons (2 included in the nightly price) Dogs: friendly dogs on leads permitted in July and August for €5 per day (€2 per day in May, June and September). You will be sent a payment request at time of booking. We are an independent campsite with 35 pitches spread over 2.5ha. We have a chilled out terrace with café/bar (food trucks every night in summer) plus a pool, tennis and play areas. Hot showers and toilets, laundry facilities and more. Expect to be warmly received by a small and friendly team dedicated toward ensuring your time at Mathevies is relaxed and fully catered for. We don't have nightly entertainment or animation, the pool doesn't have slides. Clean, cosy and cool - everything is at your disposal without the hype and noise, clutter and stress. We have 10 beautifully designed and fully equipped chalets (Open Airs and Plein Airs) and 2 gites to choose from with loads of info and photos. The campsite and all facilities are at your disposal - Cosy Nook Bar and terrace, swimming pool, tennis court (free for use, we supply the kit), communal sanitary block cleaned 3 times a day with unlimited hot water, petanque, indoor playroom for under 5's and outdoor playground. The heart of the campsite is the ultra-relaxed Cosy Nook café and Bar. In summer there is a different pop up food truck every evening. All pitches are spread over 2.5 hectares of landscaped terracing and woodland. They are grassed and vary in size between 100sqm and 200sqm. All are equipped with electric hook up and there are communal water points located throughout the site. A communal freezer is available free of charge for ice packs. Under-counter size fridge hire is possible (BYO electricity cables and adapters or hire ours). Charcoal barbecues are permitted on the pitches. There are 5 Pitch Types. Every effort will be made to allocate you a preferred pitch type, subject to availability at the time of your booking. The Playground pitches allow you to see the kids at play and the valley beyond – ideal if you want to watch your children at play from your tent. They are suitable for tents and trailer tents and offer good shade with mature trees and hedges. They are close to the sanitary facilities and the Cosy Nook. Located in the middle of the site, the Inner Circle pitches and are suitable for tents, camping cars, vans and caravans. Some have views out over the valley and others are more private. It is an easy amble to the sanitary facilities and the Cosy Nook. The Forest Edge pitches are placed alongside the forest edge and are separated by mature pines. They are well shaded, flat and suitable for caravans, camping cars and tents. Some have views over the valley and others have views of the Inner Circle and playground area. These pitches are a short walk to the sanitary facilities and the Cosy Nook. Forest Pitches are situated in the most peaceful area of the camping, the upper level pitches offer masterful views of the valley. Being south facing they get full sun for most of the day so they may not suit campers looking for shade throughout the day. They are suitable for tents and camper vans only, due to the narrow access road. The lower terraces involve walking up a short but steep pathway to the forest edge level. The sanitary facilities and the Cosy Nook are about 3 minutes walk away (200m). The Infinity Pitches offer uninterrupted views of the valley to the south. Most are in full sun in the height of summer being south facing so may not suit everyone. Like the Forest Pitches, they are situated furthest from the campsite amenities (200m, or 3 minutes walk). These are only suitable for tents and smaller vans due to the narrow access track. When you reserve, don't hesitate to give us your top 3 choices and we'll do all we can to meet your needs. Having said that all of the pitches have something special to offer. Other things to note Price includes: 1 grass pitch with electricity. You must bring a tent etc. and electricity cable. Nightly rate includes 2 adults. Parking for one car. More than 2 people coming? You will pay 7.00€/day for each extra person. NOT included in your price: Sleeping accommodation - you must bring your own tent, caravan or van for the grass pitch. An electricity cable. Pets: We welcome pets however we also recognise the importance of providing all following guests with a safe and clean environment. As such, there is a supplementary fee of 7€ per day if you wish to bring your dog. Please confirm if you are bringing a pet at time of booking indicating the race and age etc. We will send you a secure payment request via Airbnb in advance of your stay. Dogs must be accompanied by the guest at all times and must not be left alone in the house. Dogs are not permitted in the swimming pool area and must be kept on a lead when on the campsite. The environment is not recommended for cats as there are dogs on site as well as protected wildlife. Food and Drink Breakfast is offered but not included in the price. Pre-order croissants, chocolatines or baked bread in time for pick up in the morning (bring cash only for the baker). Dinner every night in July and August - Food Trucks (bring cash, cards often not accepted). Rotating food trucks visit Les Mathevies serving our guests delicious meals at a family friendly price; pizza, fish 'n chips, Indian/Sri Lankan, creole, crepes/galettes and gourmet burgers.
