Nestled in the heart of Batcombe, our renovated coach house offers a comfortable place to stay. The cottage is situated in a picturesque village a few yards from fantastic walks across the mendip hills. Bookings for Christmas, Easter min 3 days also bank holidays must be a minimum of 3 nights, Friday-Monday. Also up to 2 dogs are very welcome. There is a £10 per dog per night charge which can either be added to Airbnb booking or paid when here. The space Little Brook is a recently renovated 18th century coach house and stable. It is a detached property situated in the quiet, west end of the village. Upstairs is the large master bedroom with king-size double bed and ensuite shower room. Downstairs is a spacious twin bedroom, (which can be made up as a double bed). There is also a separate bathroom downstairs. The beds are very comfortable, with white cotton bed linen, and feather bedding and pillows. Cotton towels are also provided. An additional 1 guests can be accommodated on a sofa-bed by arrangement and for a fee. Mid week/off season/one room discount If you would only like to book one room, please enquire for discount. Little Brook is a self-catering rental, and the kitchen is equipped with fridge-freezer, electric hob, electric ovens, microwave, and dishwasher. A washer/dryer means that you can keep on top of clothes' washing too. Hot water is available 24/7, and central heating is available throughout the property. There is wifi and a landline. (Calls on landline are charged on an 'honesty' basis.) Multi channel Sky TV HD and DVD are accessible on the 32" wide screen HD TV in the sitting room. There is also a stereo + iPod lead. The cottage is self-catering but we always put fresh bread, eggs & local organic milk out for your arrival. Also the kitchen cupboard is stocked with tea, coffee & plenty cooking basics for you! Alternatively, if you don't feel like cooking, the village pub, (which is child and dog-friendly), serves fine ales, wines and great food every day of the week, and it's just down the lane. WEEKLY RATES The one room discount is only available for bookings less than a week. If you want to book the cottage for a week or more, please either message me fr rates or request for 3/4 guests . DOGs- are welcome but there is a charge of £25 p. dog, p. week, or £40 for x2 dogs. Otherwise it's £5 p. dog p. night. We tend to limit dogs to x2 maximum. Please keep dogs off the furniture, clean up after them and provide them with their own beds and other doggy-kit, plus a towel to dry them off after a wet walk. Guest access There is ample parking for two cars outside the property on the street side, but accommodation for others can be found along the lane or, by arrangement, in our forecourt. Other things to note Some people want to come and escape, others to explore. If keeping it local you can walk to The Three Horseshoes pub( Margo Henderson) or Westcombe to sample artisan beers at the Woodshed, Westcombe cheese, and Landrace bread. As mentioned, the local town, Bruton, is only 3 miles away - If you're a 'foodie' then there's the acclaimed At The Chapel, which is child-friendly and in addition to more sophisticated fare, their home-fired pizzas and bakery are second to none. Also Matt's Kitchen might only be a small venue, run from his own house, but it's well worth a visit. It's a limited but highly imaginative menu that's sourced from local suppliers and markets - Matt never fails to amaze his guests, and you can bring your own bottle(s). As with At The Chapel, booking is advised. If you're a 'culture-vulture' then Hauser & Wirth seem to have the art world buzzing with their Bruton-based, world class gallery and multi purpose arts centre and gardens. Meanwhile Bruton's high street is amok with quirky antique & interiors shops. Other local attractions include The Mill on the Brue activity centre, Longleat Safari Park, Stourhead House and Gardens, Stonehenge, Glastonbury Tor and Festival, The Bath & West Showground, Wookey Hole Caves & Cheddar Gorge. Slightly further afield lie Bristol and Bath, and to the south is the wonderful Jurassic coastline and Chesil beach.
