Orokonui Getaway #22- no hidden fees

When you want to get away from it all and relax, "Number 22" provides an excellent base within 15 mins of the City of Dunedin, with a rural outlook and plenty of birdsong, thanks to Orokonui Ecosanctuary. Past guests have come to explore the area, to hang out for a weekend with a friend, to write some more of their novel/thesis, to be out of town when visiting Dunedin for hospital/events, and to job hunt from an unstressed base! We welcome you. The space "22" is attached to our garage, and about 35m from our home - so self contained, but you are able to access our assistance if needed. One step up gets you into the unit, and the bathroom is recessed one step down off the living floor - accessibility is easy. If arriving at night there is a reflective sign '22' on the left hand side lamppost opposite our driveway. If arriving by day, we're the next driveway on the right after `The Sunny Yellow House'. At the top of the drive, there is a park for your vehicle outside the room, enabling you to have easy access and come-and-go at your leisure. The area of Blueskin Bay boasts quiet cafes, a library, bush, beach, ecological interpretation, and a general sense of being in a rural setting whether you choose to drive or walk around. Being self-contained, "22" allows you to be on your own timetable. Heating in winter, and a fan in summer mean the indoors is always comfortable... and the small courtyard and seating beside the unit, give you a place to gently soak up the ambience of rural views and Estuary, read your book or watch the birds. We have a folding small single stretcher bed (for a child) and portacot available if you need them. Let us know before you arrive. Should you need to recharge your EV while here, please bring your own 3-pin plug connector, and leave us $10 cash/charge to cover power costs. Thanks. Guest access As well as your fully self contained accommodation there is a single car park available and a private courtyard to relax in and enjoy this unique environment. Need to arrive earlier in the day? Just let me know.... Our settings have a later checkout time too (noon) so you can enjoy a relaxed departure. Other things to note We both hold current first aid qualifications if you should need support during your stay.
