"Chasselas" : Child Friendly Cottages, S/W France

Parents can relax and read while children make new friends and play safely within sight. Our property is set up particularly to match the needs of families with children aged around 12 and under. Lovely, historic rural village location within 1 hr of lots of superb beaches as well as many inland attractions. Former fortified farm, renovated into five character cottages surrounding a large central lawn/playground. Separate enclosed pool area with 50m2 heated pool and walled garden/terrace. The space Safe, enclosed play areas far away from busy roads. The property is located on the edge of an ancient village, bursting with history and character. Daily Traffic down our road consists mainly of the postman, the boulangerie van, a local farmer and our guests. In the central garden we have a large, shaded sandpit, a Wendy house, a 10 foot trampoline, swings and slides. There is also a games barn with Ping Pong, basketball, table soccer, FOC Bikes to borrow, Sofas . Fully qualified PADI Diving instructors live in our village and provide optional scuba diving lessons in our pool each week if there is demand. Short courses are available for all ages up to and including adults. The property has an adjacent sports field with soccer nets and great views into the Nie Valley. Also lovely local walks and cycle rides. The whole area is perfect for cycling and the younger children can learn to ride in the garden or on our sports field. Our "Val de Santonge" location means that Popular Tourist towns of La Rochelle, Cognac, medieval St Jean D'Angely, Isle de Re, Isle D'Oleron, Venice Verte etc. are all within easy reach. Some families have visited us five or more times and still not done everything that there is to do in the area. Guest access Each of the five cottages has at least one private garden and/or terrace area with outdoor dining furniture and charcoal BBQ. The central lawn/playground, games barn, pool area and sports field are all shared between the five cottages. multi-lingual Owners or managers visit each morning and live nearby, but are available 24/7 in case of emergency. Other things to note There is no smoking permitted inside any of the buildings or in any of the shared spaces including the pool area. Within the confines of the property boundaries, Smoking is restricted to the guests private outdoor areas only.
