Set on a tranquil 10 acre farm, you'll be sharing the house with 2 cats & 2 dogs, & me. The dogs bark at times, but are harmless. Outside are horses, sheep, chickens, peabirds & other wildlife. It's a 15-20 minute walk to the growing hub of Kumeu township. Some of the best wineries & restaurants in Auckland, West Coast beaches, & sky diving are all on the doorstep. Auckland City and Sky Tower is a 30 minute drive (outside of peak traffic flows) & Muriwai, Bethels & Piha beaches are close by. The space The house is a homely, comfortable, older style bungalow, with semi open plan kitchen and lounge. In summer, the sun room on the deck is a lovely space to enjoy reading a book, falling asleep or relaxing with a drink. The bathroom and toilet are separate and shared with the owner, seldomly. The hot water is HOT with reasonable pressure for a rain water tank system. (not town supply/mains pressure) Your bedroom contains a king single bed and access onto the sunroom. A second pull out single bed can be a stand alone separate bed in the room, or pushed up beside the king single bed, for another person in your group. Some areas of the house are in need of renovations but it is homely and welcoming. Guest access Bedroom, Lounge, Kitchen, Bathroom, Sunroom, Outdoors During your stay I work locally and long hours and on call, but otherwise I enjoy working on the farm, being with the horses, but I am also around to assist with any local information and tips on where to go locally or while in NZ generally. I love meeting travelers and learning about your ways of life, similarities, and differences. I am also happy if you need rest and privacy to recuperate or just be amongst the natural setting of the farm. I do ask that you do not visit & feed the horses, unattended, for your own safety! If I am around, I am happy for you to accompany me at feeding times to meet the animals, if you wish. Other things to note I have a HelpX person staying for a while from March to June 2025
