Casa dell'Ava a lovely three-bedroom holiday home on the Swiss-Italian border, halfway between Lake Como and St. Moritz. The house itself is about 300 years old and is perched on a sunny hillside with a splendid view over the mountains and offers an unbeatable location for mountain holidays, whether you want to walk, ski or just relax. It is perched on a sunny hillside with a splendid view over the mountains and offers an excellent location for mountain holidays, whether you want to walk, ski or just relax. There is central heating, plus a wood-burning stove in the sitting room. On the very bottom floor there is a “crotto” (cave) where the animals used to live which now houses the central heating There is a bar and restaurant 150m from the house. A supermarket and local deli are easily accessible in Chiavenna, as are some fantastic local restaurants. The open-plan living area occupies the top two floors of the house. Under the roof there is a relaxing or working space with wonderful views through the windows in the roof up the mountain. The fully equipped kitchen comes with induction hob and electric oven, dishwasher, fridge, kettle, washing machine, tumble dryer, iron. The lower two floors of the house have three bedrooms. All are south-facing and have shutters and metre-thick walls so they are cool in the summer. There is one large double bedroom and two twin rooms. There is a bathroom with a shower and toilet, plus an additional toilet on the stairs. Bed linen and hand towels are included in the rental. There is a south-facing balcony with panoramic views over the mountains. Wifi and Sonos speakers. Other things to note Accessibility: Guests should note that the village of Pianazzola is perched on a mountainside and is a car-free village. There is a car park above the village and guests then need to walk down 80 steps to access the front door. Inside the house there are steep stone steps to access the lower bedroom and to get up to the sitting room.
