Description
Self-contained accommodation sympathetically converted from an old cart shed set in a courtyard opposite the owners' house. The property is on a quiet lane close to the centre of Horsted Keynes. There are two pubs and a small shop in the village within walking distance. Dogs are allowed on request. Electric car charging available, payable on use. The space The bedsitting room has a comfortable kingsize bed with feather and down pillows and duvet. There is a table and chairs for meals and a small sofa. French doors lead out onto a courtyard. The separate shower room has a large, powerful shower, a loo, basin, heated towel rail and shaver point. The kitchen has a microwave, hob, fridge, kettle, toaster, etc. but no oven. Guests have access to washing machine and tumble dryer (£5 charge per load) and use of iron and ironing board. Guest access The lodge is accessed via double gates and parking is in the courtyard. Other things to note Horsted Keynes is a thriving small rural village close to Ashdown Forest, and is ideally located for exploring Kent and Sussex. It has two excellent pubs and former Prime Minister Harold MacMillan, who lived just outside the village, is buried in St Giles churchyard. Burghurst Lodge is on the Sussex Border path and there are many local walks. Several National Trust properties are nearby as is Horsted Keynes station for the Bluebell Railway which runs steam trains between Sheffield Park and East Grinstead.
