Description

IMPORTANT: Do not send a booking request right away. Please read carefully and send a message first. Since Airbnb does not allow bookings for more than 16 guests, the listed price is calculated per person based on the maximum capacity of 28 beds. Domus Laeta can only be rented exclusively and as a whole property, with the cost always calculated on all 28 beds, even for smaller groups. Everything will be explained in the first reply message and on cilentovillas The space Domus Laeta is a historic residence dating back to the 1600s, located in the Cilento National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, in the small village of Giungano — essentially Paestum — in the province of Salerno. South-facing, it offers a captivating view stretching from the valley to the sea, with Capri and the Amalfi Coast on the horizon. It still preserves its original 17th-century structure: watchtowers, arrow slits along the walls, stables, mangers, an olive press, cellars, and ancient bread ovens. In the spacious and panoramic garden, the old water collection basin beside the natural spring well has been transformed into a pool with hydromassage. Domus Laeta can be described as a villa, agriturismo, B&B, hotel, holiday home or even a small hamlet, but it has always remained a family-run property, with members of the same family present for five centuries. Belonging since its origins to an aristocratic family, it preserves precious memories in its furnishings, objects, historical archives, and an exquisite library containing about two thousand rare and ancient volumes. Wedding receptions become a wonderful experience for guests, who can move between the indoor spaces — two elegant halls on the main floor and a hall adjacent to the ancient courtyards, accommodating around 100 seated guests — and the outdoor areas, including the poolside, the lawn with fruit trees, and the large grape pergola. Every corner offers a glimpse of rare beauty. It is also helpful to know that an ancient restored church is located practically adjacent to the property. We also recommend searching online for “Domus Laeta” to explore dedicated websites. A site visit can be arranged before any potential booking. Guest access The residence is renovated annually. Guests have six rooms with private bathroom and air conditioning. Boardrooms, library, TV room. Large outdoor areas, porch with frescoes, lookout terrace, garden with fruit trees, swimming pool and small gym. Other things to note Domus Laeta has a long history witnessed in every environment. The palace, one of the oldest in the country, is located next to the main square and the church. It is on three levels and overlooks the valley resting on a terraced garden with fruit trees and vineyard. The structure has all the characteristics of the manor house equipped for complete management autonomy. From the outside, it appears a fortified house as it must have been in past centuries. Inside, before entering the house properly, a series of small courtyards and courtyards where the servants were engaged in various tasks: caring for donkeys and horses (there are still troughs and iron rings to which they were tied), preparation of wine, and production of oil with grapes and olives harvested in the underlying olive grove owned by the family. The large stone crusher in the not yet restored room is still intact, in which there is an old cistern, the olive collection tank, and a sink. The large wood-fired ovens for the bread and for the cooking of the figs that at the end of the summer abounded on the estate are still working. A series of objects serving kitchens is still preserved. The reception rooms have remained the same and there is a memory of the chest of drawers in the main hall, in a document of the '700. The room with access to the spring water well was used for the water supply. The bridge was built to allow it to be taken without risk and in the last century, the population of Giungano had the times for collection because that water was considered the best in the country. Hosts guarantee a cordial and refined stay. Particular attention is paid to breakfast (not included) and gala dinners are organized on request. It is possible to have lunch in a simple and genuine way in partner restaurants.
