Tucked away in the East Gippsland Mountains on the bank of the Timbarra River this delightful, self contained cottage is perfect for a romantic holiday away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Or bring the family and detox from technology for a few days. Relax and wind down, try trout fishing, read a book or go for a bush adventure on the many 4x4 tracks which are so close by. The space Perfect escape for couples or families. This off the grid cottage is warm, comfortable and welcoming with beautiful hand rendered walls, poured earth floors and many interesting features. Spacious private queen bedroom downstairs and a large family bedroom upstairs with room for kids to play. It has to be seen to fully appreciate this unique owner built cottage. Guest access Guests have access to all facilities, the fully enclosed garden including a barbecue and a range of herbs, and the surrounding six acre block. The Timbarra River is 40 metres from the gate which is great for trout fishing, swimming or just sitting and watching the amazing birds. So many birds! There are several steps leading to the bathroom and toilet. Guests will be surprised by the modern composting toilet which is continuously vented by a solar powered fan. Please note that this property is surrounded by a working farm so cows and sheep will wander past. For this reason we ask that you please leave your dogs at home. There is plenty of space for horses but you will need to bring your own fence. The six acre property is great for kids to ride push bikes and play games on. There is easy river access from the full length of the property Other things to note Enjoy an alternative lifestyle for a few days with our:- Wood heater to toast your toes in winter. Composting toilet. Wood fired cooking and hot water. Solar power. No phone or television coverage. (How good is that?) Buchan is the nearest town 40 minutes drive away so you need to plan well. The general store has basic supplies. There is also a popular hotel, petrol station, restaurant and takeaway shop. And of course the famous Buchan Caves. The closest large supermarket is at Lakes Entrance about an hours drive away. We provide a small supply of coffee, tea and milk in case you forget these essentials.
