Get off-the-grid in our charming country style wooden eco-chalet in the rainforest. Quiet location within 330 acres of rainforest/subtropical vegetation in the Northern Rivers Region of NSW. The place is ideal for nature lovers and those wanting to experience the a sustainable lifestyle. The space You want to experience something different? You like nature and sustainability is important to you? The Eco Chalet in the rainforest will offer you both the accommodation and the sustainable lifestyle experience. WHAT IS IT? A charming wooden eco-chalet for a couple or a couple with a baby (baby cot available on request). This place is ideal for nature lovers or simply to leave the hustle bustle of city life. Nestled in the rainforest, this hideaway will allow you to experience sustainable lifestyle, visit the surroundings, relax in a quiet environment and just reconnect with nature. NO WIFI : ) By staying at the eco chalet, you are supporting native forest regeneration and the protection of countless species. Since we arrived in 2013, we have planted more than 1000 native trees and plan to keep going with 1000 more. Koalas trees are growing and now offer lines of habitat for local koalas. THE ECO CHALET OFFERS - a cosy bedroom equipped with a queen size bed, linen, blankets, chest of drawers, small fridge, desk & chairs, candles, oil diffuser... The mosquito net is cotton and mostly there for the romantic look (as we don't have much mosquitoes but can't say nil as we live in the bush) - a private balcony with table and sofa bed to relax. - a private shower (we provide towels, eco friendly organic soap & shampoo at no charge.) Please, observe a 3 min shower. - a private composting toilet (not smelly) with toilet paper. - a kitchenette with a small fridge, a 2 burner gas stove, cutlery, basic cooking equipment (pot, tea pot, plunger, pan, chopping board, crockery...), a selection of teas and coffee, recycling bins (we will ask you to take your regular waste away when checking out). WATER IS SUITABLE FOR DRINKING. Our off the grid sustainable lifestyle is very precious to us. We therefore ask our dear guests to respect it by being WATER WISE and POWER WISE. A 3 min shower (timer in the shower) is greatly appreciated. Because we rely on solar, be aware that you can't use a kettle, a hair drier, a toaster or any other electrical device whose power consumption is too high. A little outdoor fire pit is close to the eco-chalet and the main house (which is 15 meters from the eco chalet). Feel free to ask if you'd like us to light the fire for you (fire ban and weather permitting)! FRENCH BREAKFAST can be offered for a small fee ($10 for 2) from 7 am to 9 am on weekdays. Times can be adjusted on the weekend. It consists of toasted organic bread with jam, our own honey, tea and coffee. Please, let us know if you want it when booking or when arriving. Breakfast will be ready to be picked up in the main house (15 m from the Eco Chalet). This service is no longer available due to the Covid Outbreak but hopefully we'll get back to it : ) IMPORTANT NOTE TO OUR DEAR GUESTS : Although we like the eco chalet cosy and comfortable, we wish to keep it rustic and simple so that people can reconnect with nature. We believe less is best and try to focus on the essentials to limit our Carbon footprint. It is NOT a luxury accommodation with swimming pool, wi-fi & air conditioning, fully equipped kitchen, TV... in the wild. Our aim is for you to experience a sustainable lifestyle and reconnect with nature and/or your loved ones. People coming here want to experience something different from what they have at home, not just a change of decor. As mentioned previously, the eco-chalet is located 15 meters from the main house; if you need anything, don't hesitate to ask, we may be able to help you if we are at home. A beautiful swimming hole is located 5-7 min drive from here if you wish to have a swim on a warm day. Finally, our property is absolutely PET FREE and SMOKE FREE. Guest access Feel free to have a walk on the property, look at native trees, spend some time on the passerelle overlooking the dam, light a fire at night in the fire pits (fire ban permitting)... Come and see us any time you need something, we will do our best to accommodate you. Other things to note Our philosophy is to offer you a great time and share our way of life. There is NO MINIMUM STAY, NO ON PEAK/OFF PEAK PERIOD, and NO EXTRAS FOR CLEANING. PLEASE, NOTE THAT PRICE IS NOT NEGOTIABLE and it is a PET and SMOKE-FREE property. PENALTY FEES will apply if smoking occurs. Sorry, no hair dryers, electric kettle or iron as we run on solar. The water is totally suitable for drinking.
