The space NOTE: early bookings 5 nights minimum. Will change this to 2 nights closer to summer. The traditional wooden cottage sits on a wooded plot of 4500m2 with a lawn in front of it. Lovely, shallow sandy beach also. We have added a large decking area with plenty of seating and a gas BBQ (fee). There's also free wood BBQ area and Wood-burning fish smoking grill. The cottage has open living room -kitchen-diner area, two bedrooms, one with 160cm double bed and another with two bunk beds and a desk. Living room L-shaped sofa turns into sofa bed and there´s one extra mattress. Generally cottage is for 4 people, but we can accommodate more with special arrangements (fee). Dining table has 4 chairs, plus one extra chair by the desk. We can provided couple of extra chairs if required when booking exceeds 4 people. ** PLEASE note that if booking for 4 paying people (excluding infants as they stay for free) but if you want to use the sauna cabin bed (120cm wide) there's additional fee as it´s more preparation and cleaning work for our person in charge. Fee applies for additional people (4 included in standard booking). There's bathroom with sink, shower cubicle and an incinerating ( burning) toilet, the hot water tank is 60l. The water comes from own well and quality has been tested. Water pressure is rather low in the shower, but better in sauna, where one has traditional water heating for hot water with the sauna stove - you need to manually mix sauna-heated how water with cold water that comes from the hose. The kitchen is new with hob, stove, microwave, fridge-freezer, sandwich grill, coffee maker, toaster, coffee press and a kettle. Free use of the smoking grill. Gas grill outside (fee). The main road has been redone in gravel instead of tarmac so last 15km is now gravel road. There is parking for 2-3 cars in the driveway. We have installed 4G wifi. * Bedrooms have radiators for cold weather and kitchen has also a portable electric radiator. Bedroom windows can be opened and there's a mosquito net in the window. We also have one tower fan for cooling during hot days but note there is no AC. * ALSO NOTE that you have the whole cottage in use as well as sauna and the beach with a rowing boat and two supping boards. Life vests for adults and children can be borrowed from the sauna cabin. There are games such as badminton, football croquet and pétanque and sand toys for smaller children. * Closest local store (Utulan kyläkauppa) with an outside beer garden is about 16km away so its best to bring your food with you when you arrive to start with. Great cycling routes, Unesco Geopark and other sights in the area. Guest access The whole cottage, sauna, beach and outbuilding for guest use. Other things to note * Main cottage 4 beds (160cm,2 bunk beds, sofa bed),. Additional sauna cabin 120cm bed (fee). Can provide floor mattress to the bunk bed room. Standard booking is for 4 paying guests. * Smoking grill and wood BBQ for free for guest use. Gas grill for a fee to cover refill expenses. * Fireplace (free firewood) and large deck terraces. * Radio and 4G Wifi. * Fully equipped kitchen with fridge-freezer, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, kettle and a sandwich grill. * Rowing boat with engine (fee for fuel). * At times in summer in Finland there are mosquitos and other biting flies. Don´t forget your mosquito spray and cream for possible bites. When there´s wind we are pretty much mosquito-free. *As this is Finnish countryside there is a possibility to encounter with other wild animals such as wolf, bear, fox or a snake as an example but we have never seen any around the cottage so far. We´ve spotted squirrels, birds and two hares, one brown, another unusually so, white. Two swans also reside in the area. *Long distances to shops so bring enough food and drink with you. * No AC, this is traditional cottage. Tower fan, bedroom windows can be opened, they have mosquito nets. 3 radiators in the cabin, none in sauna cabin. ** PLS note that the approaching tarmac road (last 15km) has been changed from tarmac to a gravel road.
