A farmhouse in the green of Alta Versilia

A farmhouse, an ideal place for those who, while choosing the opportunities and tranquility of the mountains, want to visit and get to know Versilia and the attractions of Tuscany. The space The house is located in Melo, a place not far from the village of Pruno, which can be reached in 10 minutes on foot from the parking lot or in a few minutes with a car that can travel on a steep dirt road (not necessarily an off-road vehicle, just a car with a little more ground clearance, such as the famous Fiat Panda). The building is a typical, large house of the upper Versilia of the late 1800s. The house, which retains all its original features, is distinctly rustic and divided into a central part on three levels and a wing on a single level with an independent entrance. Overall, the property is not suitable for those with mobility issues. The central part has two double bedrooms, a bedroom with a bunk bed (2 places), a dining room, a living room (if necessary equipped with a sofa bed for two additional places) with a fireplace, a large kitchen and two bathrooms with shower; in front of a large pergola. On each floor there are wood stoves and a fireplace, which can be used in the time slots in which the central heating is not active and you will find the wood on site. The side wing, with a separate entrance, consists of a double bedroom; a bathroom with a shower; a large living room, where a sofa bed (2 seats) and the kitchenette can be used. A large isolated cottage where you can live in peace; a place from which to start to make various excursions to the mountains and places of upper Versilia or leave to visit the beaches or cities of art of Tuscany. We remind you that the house is located in the middle of nature, among green forests; for this reason, doors and windows are equipped with mosquito nets, but nevertheless, you may encounter some small and harmless animals. Guest access The location of the house makes it an ideal place to start for walks, hikes, reaching the beaches or discovering some of the most beautiful and well-known places in Tuscany. In the morning, after an energetic breakfast under the veranda, you can go and discover the many paths that cross this part of the Apuan Alps; with a short walk suitable for the whole family you can reach the Acquapendente waterfall; walk along the localities of Alpeggio, where the locals once moved to carry out summer work; or discover the rock engravings left by the ancient Ligurian peoples. For the more experienced, there is the possibility of reaching some of the most fascinating peaks of the Apuan Alps, overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. Particularly impressive is the climb to the summit of Monte Forato, characterized by its natural arch of about 30 meters in diameter; Monte Forato is the backdrop to the view from our house. For sea lovers, you can reach the beaches and seaside resorts of Forte dei Marmi, Marina di Pietrasanta and Viareggio. From Pietrasanta station, in less than an hour by train, you can go and spend a beautiful day in the "Cinque Terre" National Park, known worldwide for its small villages perched on the steep cliffs overlooking the sea. Alternatively, in the afternoon, you can visit the medieval villages of Camaiore and Pietrasanta or Lake Massaciuccoli, which inspired the operatic compositions of Maestro G. Puccini and where the Puccini Festival takes place in August Upon your return, in the late afternoon, the Pruno Inn, a meeting place for the few inhabitants of the village, awaits you for a typical aperitif. Pruno also offers two small restaurants where you can spend the evening enjoying excellent dishes. If you prefer to stay home, the evening is the best time to try cooking the typical dishes of Tuscan cuisine accompanied by a good wine.
