The space The Barn is a space of volume and warmth, carefully restored from its former life as a dairy farm. Timber-lined walls, a rusted steel spiral staircase, and pink granite finishes draw inspiration from the geology of Wilsons Promontory, bringing the surrounding landscape into the heart of the design. A highlight of the experience is the handcrafted timber bath, set on the mezzanine level beneath lofted ceilings—a quiet retreat designed for deep, restorative soaks. Positioned to capture the light and stillness of the space, it invites you to pause and unwind. The kitchen is designed for simple, thoughtful meals, with a welcoming supply of local produce to settle in with. The living area is open yet intimate, centered around a wood fire, creating a cozy space to gather or retreat into quiet. The ground floor is fully wheelchair accessible, with a queen bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and living spaces all on one level. The second queen bedroom on the mezzanine offers a more secluded place to rest. Step outside to the kitchen garden, where you can pick fresh herbs, and a fire pit for evenings spent under the stars. The Barn is designed for slow, simple living, offering a stay that feels both expansive and comforting. Whether reading by the fire, sharing a meal, or exploring the quiet beauty of South Gippsland, the Barn is a place to reset, reconnect, and take things at a slower pace. Guest access The Barn is part of Ross Farm, a micro retreat featuring three unique spaces, each thoughtfully designed with its own private outlook and a strong sense of seclusion. Guests have full access to the Barn and its private outdoor spaces, including the fire pit, outdoor shower, and other amenities. Privacy is always respected, and self check-in makes arrival effortless. Other things to note Every detail in the Barn has been considered to create a comfortable, relaxed, and immersive stay. Enjoy fresh eggs in the morning, a fire in the evening, and time to simply be. Sink into Relaxed Linen bedding, with soft bath towels, linen bathrobes, and slippers provided for your stay. The Barn is designed for those looking to step away from the rush and reconnect with nature, good design, and a slower pace of living. Booking Terms & House Rules Minimum Stay: A two-night minimum applies for weekend bookings (Friday & Saturday nights). Mid-Week Stays: Single-night stays are available Sunday through Thursday, ideal for a mid-week reset or overnight escape. Check-in & Check-out: Standard check-in and check-out times apply. Longer Stays: For guests looking to extend their visit and fully unwind, longer bookings are welcomed, with special rates available for stays of 4 nights or more. House Rules: The Barn is designed for quiet, restful stays—we kindly ask guests to respect the peaceful setting. No parties, pets, or additional guests beyond those included in the booking. Commercial Photoshoots: Photoshoots are not permitted at Ross Farm. Elopements & Gatherings: We cannot accommodate elopements or gatherings without prior approval.
