Outside the room is a small veranda with hammocks. The hut is also made of wooden materials which means it could get a bit noisy sometimes. Below, you have direct access to the staff where you could ask for quick cold drinking water (free) or whatever you need from the kitchen. *Free breakfast (7am-11am) and ask for your welcome drinks upon arrival. Please be considerate and don't ask for the staff to prepare breakfast at 5am (some guests amazingly do). They come in at 6am and breakfasts are ready to serve starting 7am. *Check in time: 2 pm; Check out: 11am *Restaurant time: 7am-10pm (last call for order 9pm; drinks available until midnight) EXPECTATIONS: Our native-style Filipino cottages come with their own unique set of advantages and quirks. The traditional construction of wood and thatch offers a delightful indoor climate and a cozy, homely atmosphere. However, this natural construction also means that, at times, you may notice TINY BITS OF WOOD falling due to climatic changes, or perhaps a small lizard making its way inside, hunting for mosquitoes. Though the rooms are thoroughly cleaned before each guest's arrival, these occurrences are part of the authentic provincial experience. Wooden floors may creak, and while these features add character, they might be unfamiliar to guests used to modern concrete buildings. We are pleased to inform you that we have since rebuilt the fence, repaired the roof, and cleaned up the property to create a welcoming environment. - **Mosquito Awareness:** Being a tropical country, the Philippines has its share of mosquitoes. We recommend bringing insect repellent to enhance your comfort during your stay. - **Accommodation Quality:** Please note that our sanctuary does not offer 5-star accommodations. The proximity to the ocean and the effects of annual typhoons mean our house may show some signs of wear and tear. We aim to set realistic expectations, so if you’re seeking luxury accommodations, we kindly ask you to consider other options. The true charm of our home lies in its secluded beach location and the authentic experience of Boholano life, making it a perfect fit for solo travelers, couples, and small families. - **Electricity Availability:** Our island occasionally experiences electric brownouts (tropical blackouts). While such outages are rare, they can result in temporary power loss for a few hours, which is beyond our control. We do have a generator, but it may take a few minutes to get it operational.
