MeghBrishti Bari -A family retreat in Raichak

Welcome to ‘Meghbrishti bari’ our home away from home at Raichak a small town around 50 kms south of the City of Joy, Kolkata. This duplex came into our lives when we were looking for a quiet retreat in the lap of nature to unwind from the mundane daily life and its noisiness. The sprawling lush green lawn, abundant greenery, calm serene surrounding, proximity to the river Ganges, its cool breeze and a secure gated community of villas made it love at first sight. The space This ‘house of frangipani’ as we also fondly call it (obvious that we have many frangipani trees ) has a spacious living room with a cosy sitting area extending into a dining space overlooking a huge green lawn and a decent sized functional open kitchen. Of the 3 bedrooms we named the first one located on the ground floor ‘Ghoom’ meaning sleep while the other 2 namely “Chuti’ meaning holiday and ‘Ananda’ meaning happiness are situated on the first floor. Each one is aesthetically done up with wooden bed, armorie and en suites keeping in mind the minimalist style to allow more room for leisure. And not to forget the balcony to sit and read or simply laze. You may choose to spend time downstairs watching your favourite entertainment program on the television or enjoy an ideal family time chatting, playing board games or sit at the longish dining table over a sumptuous meal surrounded by your loving family. The small sitting area in the front garden is ideal for some gupshup over chai. You can spend endless hours in the back garden doing things that bring happiness to your tired soul like yoga, painting, playing, reading, sipping your favourite drink while watching the birds fly back home at dusk or enjoying spotting stars in the clear unfathomed sky. Guest access Entire villa as narrated above including a well equipped kitchen, front and back garden with garden chairs and umbrella, some games and music system are available during your stay. Other things to note Our humble request : This is our home, please love and respect it as you would do to yours. Conserve energy and natural resource for our next generations -use electricity and water judiciously. Government photo ID proof of all guests requested upon booking. We do not have provision for any driver/chauffeur in the villa. Accomodation for driver/chauffeur is available nearby - our caretaker can guide and guests can pay as per actuals to the facility provider. Additional charges are applicable if ANY cooking is done at the villa - please get in touch with us to know more. Electric BBQ Grill - Additional charges will be applicable. No ingredients included We are able to host COVID vaccinated guests and in the absence of it, negative RTPCR report of 48 hours prior to the visit date will be required. Upon booking we will request for the vaccination certificate.
