Recently featured in the 'Scotland on Sunday', this comfortable and peaceful one-bedroom cottage is the perfect retreat for a couple. Situated in the pretty conservation village of Gavinton, a few miles outside Duns, the property sits on a 50-acre 'Millar Organics' farm. The cottage is spacious and relaxing, the ideal romantic isolation rural escape. Edinburgh is just 50 mins away and there much to see in the Borders. The space We are located on the edge of and part of a small village called Gavinton of 300 inhabitants. We have 50 acres of farmland that you can walk around and look at the animals and hear the wildlife, without seeing another soul. Isolated beauty spots, hill walking, quiet beaches and river walks and lots of cycling can also be found around and about our property, again without having to come into close contact with another human. The farm cottage is self-contained with private parking and its own separate entrance and therefore is ideal for escaping social contact without feeling too isolated from life and human habitation. In nearby Duns (less than five minutes by car) there is an Award winning Butcher and fish shop, small Co-op supermarket, pharmacy, newsagents and wine store/ice cream parlour. Our farmhouse cottage has been newly renovated to a high standard. With underfloor heating throughout, Egyptian Cotton bedding and Hungarian goose down pillows, in a tranquil rural environment, we are sure you will sleep well in the King size bed and enjoy your retreat here. We provide guests with complimentary Brownies, tea/coffee, condiments and milk on arrival. We have bookshelves filled with a selection of books and a number of board games to play. Our living room has an Aromatherapy Humidifier with lavender oil that guests can use throughout their stay. The farmhouse cottage offers a new kitchen with an oven, microwave, super speed Wifi, and outdoor seating area. Guests can enjoy the beautiful sunrises from the kitchen window (as shown in the photos). The living area has a Smart TV and a cosy wood burning stove with unlimited supply of wood. The bathroom has a powerful shower and bath and we provide soft, white, fluffy towels and Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash. We provide maps, local tourist information and a walking route map of our farm. Guests have private off road parking right outside the accommodation. Guest access Guests are welcome to explore the farm with sheep, geese, hens, pigs, goats and many stunning views and the restful sounds of wildlife.
