BEAUTIFUL RETREAT - 20 mins to CBD/10 mins to MONA

Cozy and warm mud brick/celery top pine 2 room (+ bathroom) cabin with wood fireplace. Balcony with BBQ area on 15 acres w/amazing gardens and stunning views. The cabin is built from recycled building materials. Snows up to 15 times /year from May - Sept. Combined lounge/dining, wood fire, queen bed, kitchen and bathroom. 12 mins to MONA/25 mins to the city. A beautiful space in a beautiful place. The space Nestled in a beautiful valley yet so close to Hobart and MONA, we have a very warm and inviting cabin. There is a very warm combustion fireplace (N/A Dec 15 - Apr 15) - electric heater available/wood is charged at cost price to us for stays of 3+ nights), kitchen area, queen bed with electric blankets, bathroom and combined lounge/dining room. Please note that there is a single bed that can be set up in the living area for the 3rd person. If there are 2 people, there is only a queen bed. We can set up the single bed if 2 people want 2 beds - there is a small charge for this ($35). This space is for a maximum of 3 people (including infants). We are surrounded by mountains on 3 sides on 15 acres so the scenery is nothing short of spectacular. Our water is provided to us from a natural spring from the mountain behind us and is crystal clear and tastes like water should. We have beautiful gardens (which you are welcome to wander around) and a dam with ducks. WE HAVE SEEN THE SOUTHERN LIGHTS MANY TIMES FROM OUR HOME There are loads of wildlife regularly on view: kangaroos, wallabies, bandicoots, kookaburras, a resident Echidna and a platypus that visits our dam up to 4 times per year! Perfect for a weekend away, a trip to MONA or a base for your Tassie adventure. Guest access As well as the cabin, you get a an outdoor area with BBQ. There is parking right next to your space. You are welcome to wander around our beautiful 15 acre property. Other things to note Glenorchy is only a 12 minute drive with an extensive range of shopping including Coles and Woolworths. The laundry is in the main house. We charge a small fee to wash, dry and fold your clothes. Washing facilities are not available the day of arrival and we will need to be notified when you arrive if you need washing done the following day (as we need to plan our day). The shower recess is fine for an average size person but a 'larger' person may find it a bit uncomfortable. Cooking is of course fine but we do ask if possible, not to cook foods with very strong odours (Indian food etc) as they can be difficult to remove before the next guests arrive. Lastly, please note that this is a country property that has alot of bush. Consequently, you may find the odd insect in the space....
