Written in 1958 by Sophia de Mello Breyner Anderson, her first short story for children, The Girl from the Sea, describes in a wonderful way the beach of Granja, where the author often spent her vacations. The space The house, recently rebuilt in a modern and extremely cozy way, consists of 2 bedrooms, 1 with a double bed and the other with two single beds, a Sanitary Facility, and a Living Room facing the sea, with a brand new and fully equipped kitchen. In the outdoor space, there is a large lawn, comfortably furnished to enjoy the sea breeze and watch the unique sunsets, accompanied by a beautiful late afternoon meal. Guest access In the late 19th century century and the beginning of the 20th century, century, Praia da Granja was the most aristocratic summer resort in the North of Portugal, frequented by royalty, the court and some of the most important Portuguese writers of the time, such as Ramalho Ortigão and Eça de Queirós. In those days, many Mansions and Chalets were built, surrounded by vegetation that even today, rehabilitated, give a unique “charm” to this place. Praia da Granja is located 5 km from the city of Espinho, 1.5 km from the picturesque Aguda beach and 18 km from the city of Porto. You can easily get to these places on foot via a beautiful wooden walkway by the sea, by bicycle or by train (the station is about 400 meters away). If you want to enjoy the wonderful fish or seafood, just go to the Aguda fish market, where you will find fish caught very early in the sea that bathes this beach.
