French style loft farmhouse

Welcome to "Le Mas" - a beautiful rustic country farmhouse (that has been recently renovated) modelled and named after those in Provence, France. The Le Mas annexe is a self-contained house attached (but completely separate) to the main house. The space Le Mas is an 100 acre property in Penrose, Southern Highlands, NSW. We are just two doors down from the Sylvan Glen Guesthouse and wedding venue. Situated on the property is a main house that we live in, and an attached guest annexe (which is what's available for rent). Guests have access to the entire property, except the main house. The house is situated within a fully fenced garden area and beyond that are our horse paddocks and a track along which you can explore the further reaches of the property. Kangaroos and wombats abound and there is plentiful birdlife and the occasional echidna as well. You will be welcomed, not only by us, but also by Charlie and Maisie, our two very friendly small dogs, who love nothing more than demanding attention from our guests. We have had children staying who are initially very unsure of the dogs and by the time they leave they've been demanding one of their own! The annexe is on two levels with the entrance, living room, dining area, kitchen and one bathroom on the ground level. Upstairs: 1 main bedroom: Queen bed with ensuite bathroom (sleeps two), wardrobes and chest of drawers - accessed through loft. 1 loft landing bedroom: 2 x king single beds, 1 x single bed and 1 x single trundle (sleeps four). Downstairs: Lounge room: 1 x double sofa bed (sleeps two) plus another sofa, slow combustion fireplace, TV, DVD player, books, magazines, games and coffee table. Kitchen area and 8-seater dining table. The kitchen comprises all the usual fittings, including an electric oven and cooktop, dishwasher, fridge, sink, kettle and toaster. Separate downstairs bathroom. All rooms on the lower floor have underfloor heating which, in addition to the slow combustion log fireplace, serves to keep the whole space warm and toasty, even on the coldest Southern Highlands winter night. Outside there is a small wooden outdoor setting with chairs and a hooded gas Weber BBQ. A perfect place to relax and unwind with a beverage or two at the end of the day. Penrose is a small village at the southern end of the Southern Highlands of approximately 200 people, in between the neighbouring villages of Bundanoon (10 minutes away) and Wingello (five minutes away). The property is ideally situated between Penrose and Wingello State Forests - great for horse trail riding/walking/mountain bike riding with further more demanding hikes available in Morton NP, Bundanoon. There are several lovely wineries, cafes, restaurants and markets in the area which are well worth a visit. Le Mas is very well situated for guests attending a wedding or function at Sylvan Glen, as we are only two doors down the road. It is conveniently located 10 minutes from the Hume Highway. We can provide some accommodation for horses at a small additional cost, please discuss this with us upon booking if required. Guest access The entire property except the main house Other things to note We are very happy to accommodate your horses, if you wish to bring them, but cannot allow dogs in the annexe.
