Kazhagam is a simple homely place, with a rustic feel set amidst the greenery. It is at the edge of woods, halfway down a hill. It is an ideal setting for professionals who are looking for a getaway to work from home. It is also ideally suited for artists and writers who are looking for some peace and quiet to contemplate and stimulate the creative juices. The place is also great for families looking for a space to be together to bond. The space Kazhagam is a 5 minute walk from Bharathapuzha river. It is 4 km from the famous Kerala Kalamandalam, the seat of arts and culture of Kerala. It is a great place to soak up some of India's oldest art forms and, if you are lucky, even enjoy performances by renowned artists. Guruvayoor temple, one of South India's holiest sites, is about 45 km from Kazhagam (about an hour's drive). Other attractions nearby include the Nelliampathy hill range with exotic scenery located about 70 km away and the Malampuzha dam, which is about 60 km away. Guest access You can laze around in our front yard on a hammock or take a walk through the village. You may chance upon peacocks, kingfishers, woodpeckers and the occasional owl. Robins, mynahs, cuckoos and other birds and squirrels busily pecking away at food are a regular sight while lazing on the covered terrace. The neighbouring Thiruvanjikuzhi temple on the banks of Bharathapuzha river is a seat of the powerful lord Shiva. The scenery from here is breathtaking. Other things to note We can provide homely food at an additional nominal cost. The food will be mainly South Indian cuisine. There are a few shops on the main road, about five minutes walk from the place, where you will get most of your essential requirements. The rest can be purchased either from Cheruthuruthy or Shoranur. Like most villages, there are occasional power cuts in the area. We have provided power backups that can support lights and fans for up to 8 hours. Please note that the power backup does not support air conditioners and other heavy appliances.
