Welcome to the home of filmmakers, Michele and Heinrich. We're currently renting out two bedrooms with double beds. Ideal for single business and recreational travellers. Students and interns welcome for longer stays. We share our bathroom with our guests. The bedrooms are on the first floor at the top of a flight of stairs. Guests are cautioned that stairs, like cars and electricity are dangerous if used without due care. Contrary to one misleading review, the rental is both legal and safe. The space The house is a red brick corner terrace house with a small back garden in a quiet street. The ground floor consists of a medium-size living/dining room with an en-suite kitchen and bathroom with bath, shower and toilet. The first floor has two bedrooms: one single room and one double room but both with double beds. The owners occupy the attic room on the second floor. The house is situated within 5 minutes on foot or bicycle from the center of the town of Hilversum and various shopping centers. The railway station, with direct lines to Amsterdam, Utrecht, etc., is a 7 minute walk from the house. The train ride to Amsterdam and Utrecht takes approx. 20 minutes. Several multinational corporations, including Nike, Sonos, etc. have their HQ’s within a 10-minute bicycle ride. Guest access Guests have access to their bedroom on the first floor, the shared bathroom and the garden. The rental does NOT include use of the living room/dining room area, TV, stereo system, etc. and use of the kitchen is limited to simple arrangements, such as making tea and sandwiches, but does NOT include cooking meals of any kind. Limited fridge (no freezer) and shelf space will be made available for the above-mentioned ‘simple arrangements’. No laundry facilities are provided, but a commercial laundromat with reasonable prices is available within a five-minute walk from the house. During your stay We live in the house permanently and enjoy a relaxed and friendly relationship with our guests. We also work at home. Other things to note The house is ideally suited to single students, interns, and temporary placements. There is a single shared bathroom which is downstairs and shared by everyone staying in the house. Because it is a semi-detached terrace house where the neighbours are always in very close proximity noise levels must be controlled at all times. We will require a detailed explanation of the guest arrangement prior to accepting a request to stay. PLEASE NOTE: The staircase: Many foreign visitors are not used to standard Dutch staircases and consider them quite steep. It is extremely important to use the stairs with due care. Use the handrail at all times. Never run up or down the stairs. We request that outdoor shoes be left in the hall. Indoor shoes with soft rubber soles to avoid slipping are advisable. A staircase, like a car, is not an inherently dangerous object, but improper use could result in grave injury. How you use the stairs is your own personal responsibility! We cannot accept responsibility for how you use the stairs, the electricity, and other standard facilities. Please use all facilities with due care.
