A peaceful retreat in the New England countryside

Description

Short Street Cottage is a renovated 3 bedroom home on a 300acre working farm in the picturesque village of Weabonga, in the foothills of the New England Tablelands. It provides a secluded and quiet stay for families or small groups of 6 to get away from it all in comfort and luxury. Beautifully furnished with restored and vintage furniture and a carefully curated selection of artwork and treasures. For the winter months there is a cosy wood burning heater and an outdoor fire pit . The space Short Street Cottage is a place to relax, rejuvenate and get away from it all without shops, traffic and all the other things that go with our fast paced lives. With the Cottage to yourself and 300 acres to explore, there is plenty of space to roam free, be at one with nature and take in the peaceful surroundings. A few of our favourite things to do: • Pack a picnic and take a walk to the beautiful scenic gorge on the property. • Go trout fishing, we will give you tips on the best spots to go during the fishing season. • Take a tour of the local village and the relics of its history of the gold rush era. • Pack up the Webber and head to the creek in front of the cottage for a BBQ and a swim. • Go horse riding. Located approximately 50 mins from the cottage. • Walk to the top of the hill for sundowner drinks and watch the sun setting over the hills • Bring your bikes and ride along the country roads. • Light the outdoor firepit and cook on the hotplate or make a pot roast in the camp oven. • Take a day trip to the local towns of Nundle, Walcha and Uralla for cafe, small shops, galleries and artisans. Guest access Sole use of the entire house and property. The owner may come by at times to check on stock but will not intrude on your seclusion. Other things to note If driving from Tamworth you will need to take the Port Stephen's Cutting which is 3km of steep, winding road. In addition, the last 11km of the journey is unsealed dirt road so it may be a little bumpy in parts, it is however, all weather and suitable for all vehicle types. There is Telstra mobile reception in Weabonga thanks to a newly installed 4G tower in the village however, we do not have WiFi in the cottage as we like to enjoy the simple pleasure of no digital devices except for TV! This is a working farm and as such there is livestock in the surrounding paddocks along with unfenced dams and a creek running through the property. There are also old sheds and outbuildings which may pose a risk. As such, it may not be suitable for small children and all children under the age of 12 will need to be supervised at all times whilst on the property. Registration Details PID-STRA-8944
